I’ve been getting a little bit… well, harsh, shall we say, on fruit-themed slots just lately – there are simply way too many of them still being released week in, week out, by every single developer. However, Stakelogic’s take on the format is an interesting one, similar to Diamond Fruits Megaclusters, which was another recent fruit-themed slot that didn’t bore me to death with its cookie-cutter fruit machine inspired symbols. Hell, I couldn’t even name some of the fruits in that one! I fear I may be about to suffer the same fate here…
Paytable time! Let’s start with the bananas, as a banana is a very good place to start. That’s how the song goes, isn’t it? Well, anyway… A full pay way of six-of-a-kind here is worth 10x your bet, whilst the two slices of watermelon are next at 3x for all six of those. That’s a significant drop between the top symbol and the second-highest paying symbol, suggesting that the bananas are likely a “premium” symbol that you won’t be seeing very often. The coconut is next, 1.5x for all six of those, whilst a pay way featuring six-of-a-kind pineapples is worth 1x – just your bet back. As the paytable features only fruits, it’s difficult to know where the line between high and low paying symbols stands, but I will say that the orange (I think?) and avocado are both worth 0.8x your bet for all six of those, and I think we will leave it at that.
How high can you bet in the Fruityways Bonanza slot game? Base Game & Modifiers
Base gameplay pans out similarly to most other Megaways slots – you have six reels, the first and last of which can divide into between two and seven sections on each spin, whilst the middle five reels will divide into between two and six sections during each spin.
The disparity results from the additional horizontal row, which appears only above reels two through six. These symbols make up the additional seventh positions which appear on the first and last reels, meaning that all six reels end up with a total of up to seven possible positions.
Mystery Wild Symbols
Mystery symbols have become predictable, and I would even go as far as to say boring recently, and I suspect Stakelogic must agree with me. This is because, rather than just having mystery symbols appear on the reels, they will only appear on the top reel.
When the mystery symbols transform, all the symbols on the reel directly below that match the wilds transformed symbol will be changed into wilds. That’s a much most interesting mystery symbol mechanic, as far as I am concerned! More like this, please!

The bonus scatter symbol is represented by two surfboards, for some reason, and you will need to hit four of them to start yourself a bonus feature. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be any benefit whatsoever for hitting fi!ve or six scatter symbols

This is an expensive bonus bet facility – it literally doubles the cost of every spin, and whilst the paytable does promise that it increases your odds of hitting better combinations during the base game (and free spins), it’s very hard to make a test of this without running a very long simulation of at least several hundred thousand spins.
Bonus Buy
Finally, if it is permitted in your jurisdiction, you can opt to skip the base game altogether and go straight to the bonus round for a cost of 100x your bet. You’ll be given the same three options you would be if you triggered the option via scatter symbols, and at the cost of 100x the stake, I feel like this is quite fairly priced.
