Full Moon Fever (Blueprint) Slot Demo & Review

If you ever paid attention during your schooling or have a slight interest in astronomy, you will know that roughly every 29.5 days, a full moon occurs. Whilst some believe more accidents, natural disasters and even births happen during this time, there are others with a darker side who think werewolves come out of hiding and attack. It seems that’s what Blueprint Gaming want us to believe in their Full Moon Fever slot game, which comes with 6 reels, 4,096 fixed paylines, and a maximum win of 50,000x bet.

The base game is relatively action-free, with only a wild symbol that expands the full length of the reel when it hits worthy of a mention. Things get a bit more exciting when three or more scatter symbols land to trigger the free spins bonus. Whilst this mode is active, hitting the wild symbol will upgrade the game’s characters into the werewolf, increasing the capacity to hit a substantial win. Furthermore, an extra spin buy and bonus buy option are also present in the game.

Legend has it that only a bullet cast from silver can kill a werewolf. So, whilst we’re busy filling up on ammunition, why don’t you try out our free Full Moon Fever slot demo, available to play below.

There was lots of feeling of déjà vu when the Full Moon Fever slot game loaded up and hit my screen. First of all, I found myself on the streets of London with a Werewolf after me. This immediately rang a bell and reminded me of Pragmatic Play’s Curse of the Werewolf Megaways slot. But when the bonus round kicked in, I got huge Eye of Horus vibes, but more on that later. So, we’ve got lots of similarities already, but can the game pay? We’re heading right over to the pays section this instant to find out.

Sitting pretty at the top of the paytable is the Werewolf, who is worth 5x the bet for a winning combination of six. He’s followed by the Lord at 2x, a Lady at 1.5x, the Policeman, who is valued at 1x bet, and the final premium symbols, the Old Lady and Chimney Sweep, sharing payouts of 0.8x for a complete line of six. The low pays of the slot game are represented by four royal symbols, with the Ace, King, Queen and Jack all with equal payouts of 0.4x bet for a six of a kind win.

Blueprint’s Full Moon Fever slot comes with a variety of bet sizes that punters can choose to play from. These start from as little as €0.10, with the maximum stake in the game reaching €100. There are an astonishing 30+ other options between these values, so it shouldn’t be a problem finding a bet that is comparable to the overall size of your bankroll.

Full Moon Fever Slot Base Game

Full Moon Fever Base Game

We have a supersized playfield for you to spin across on the Full Moon Fever slot game that has dimensions of 6×4 with a total of 4,096 ways to win in action. All that’s required for a win to be credited to your balance is three matching symbols landing on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel first.

Expanding Wild

The special Werewolf Wild Symbol can only appear on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5. When this lands, it will expand the entire length of the reel.

Increased Bet Option

By toggling on the increased bet option at the cost of an extra 20% on top of your current bet, you will give yourself a better chance of triggering the free spins feature.

Full Moon Fever Slot Bonus Features

Full Moon Fever Free Spins Feature
Full Moon Fever free spins feature

The Big Ben bonus scatter symbols appear on all 6 reels, but you’ll only need 3 to land for the feature to trigger and 12 free spins to be awarded. Whilst you won’t receive any extra spins for hitting 3 or more scatters, you will receive a higher monetary value with 3, 4, 5, and 6 scatters paying 2x, 5x, 10x and 100x bet, respectively.

Free Spins Feature

During the free spins bonus, each time a Werewolf Wild lands in view, it will upgrade the current lowest paying character symbol into a Werewolf and award you 1 extra free spin. If more than one Werewolf Wild lands, more spins can be awarded with 1, 2, 3, or 4 Werewolf Wilds, adding a further 1, 3, 5, or 7 additional spins to your total, respectively.

If you reach the final Scatter Werewolf Symbol, any Werewolf symbols that hit no longer need to be on a payline, and the game will act the same way as a scatter pays slot. Furthermore, when your spin count has ended, you have the option to buy extra spins at a cost decided by the game, depending on how many characters you have upgraded and the stake you are playing at.

Bonus Buy

If the feature buy button is active in your jurisdiction, you can enter the free spins immediately at the cost of 75x the current bet.

Pros

  • A proven bonus mechanic that players enjoy.

Cons

  • I'm not quite sure the stated maximum win of 50,000x is achievable.
  • Similar to other slot games already on the market.

Full Moon Fever Slot Final Thoughts

The level of design and playability of Full Moon Fever is what you'd expect from a top developer like Blueprint Gaming, but I see this game, in general, as being purely a filler slot and nothing more.Having the option to buy more spins at the end of the round has a bit of a Slingo feel to it in parts, but I'm not really sure if I found this a good thing or not.Overall, it's a slot game worth trying a few spins on, but I think those who like this style of mechanic will stick to what they know and keep playing the Eye of Hours games instead of this.
