Funky Pharaoh Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Back to that theme, although the game is titled Funky Pharaoh, and there is quite a bit of Egyptian imagery on the reels, this slot feels very different to other games we’ve seen set during that period. It’s very bright and colourful, with a beach backdrop and golden symbols everywhere. Blueprint was obviously going for a more light-hearted take on Ancient Egypt, and what they have come up with achieves this goal well. The stacked wild features an Egyptian in a Tutankhamun face mask doing that silly dance that people often include when they create cultural content about Egypt… it’s just an enjoyable theme that should be equally attractive to players of both sexes.
With just ten fixed paylines, I was hoping to see some big numbers on the paytable, and whilst it isn’t disappointing, the reality was certainly a little less generous than I expected. The scatter symbols will pay you 50x your bet for all five, whilst the highest-paying regular symbol is the treasure chest at 25x for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind. This is followed by the three Egyptian symbols, which have payouts of 20x, 15x, and 15x, so definitely nothing huge; however, the stacked wilds on reels two through four do at least mean that it should be possible to win on many pay lines at once every now and again.
I’m not sure if the wagering options shown in the demo slot are indicative of what is available in the real money version of the game, as the range only goes from €0.10 to €2.00 a spin. Considering that this is a progressive jackpot game, you may want to bet a little more than usual, as the amount you bet will be factored into whether you hit a jackpot or not.

The base game takes place on a regular 5×3 playfield, with all winning combinations except for the scatters requiring at least three matching symbols on a pay line to award a win. The main feature of the base game is the funky wild re-spins which are detailed below:
Funky Wild Respins
Each time a full stack of wilds appears on reels two, three, or four, a free re-spin feature will be awarded where the stacked wild will move one position to the left after each re-spin, with an increasing multiplier of up to 10x being applied to any winnings earned from subsequent re-spins. The feature will end when the last stacked wild has moved off-screen to the left, and the final re-spin has been completed.
Funky Pharaoh Slot Free Spins Feature
There isn’t a main free spins feature in the Funky Pharaoh online slot, which seems surprising for a game by Blueprint Gaming. I wondered what the bonus buy option could be buying you with this in mind, but it turns out that it’s more of a bonus bet than a bonus buy. Blueprint has called it Spin Boost:
Spin Boost Feature
With this option activated, you will pay 5x the regular rate for each spin, but nudging wild symbols will be added to the reels, which makes it much easier to hit the funky wild re-spins feature. If a stack of wilds appears on the screen but does not cover the entirety of the reel, then this feature will nudge it into place.
I’m not quite sure if it’s worth 5x the normal bet, but the up to 10x multiplier and the fact that you can potentially re-trigger the re-spins much easier could mean that it all works out right in the end.
Progressive Jackpot Feature
Good luck if you can make it here! I wasn’t able to hit the progressive feature despite trying hard during testing, but it’s possible that It never activates when playing the game’s demo version. More fool me, if so!
According to the paytable, once you arrive here, you are guaranteed to win one of the jackpots, with the larger two re-seeding at £500 and £5,000. You’ll spin a wheel to determine if you hit one of those or the smaller “Jackpot King” (a funny name for the small jackpot!).

There’s not quite as much here as I initially thought, but I still feel that Funky Pharaoh is a solid effort from Blueprint. We don’t see too many new progressive jackpot slots these days, and I might be tempted to take this one for a spin the next time I’m playing for real money. Give it a look!
