Game of Thrones is the world’s most popular TV series, so we won’t discuss the games background here. Microgaming must have paid a lot for the license, so it is surprising they only released two games based on the show. MG have tried their best to incorporate as many elements from the show as possible, which is to be commended. The soundtrack is atmospheric and includes elements of the shows instantly recognizable theme tune.
The top wild symbol in the Game of Thrones slot has a payout of 250 coins for a line of five compared to 500 in Thunderstruck 2. The payouts for 4 and 3 of a kind are also lower at 100 vs 50 and 37.50 vs 25, respectively. This makes a remarkable a little over 13x your stake for a full line of five, followed by around 7x, 6x, and 5x for the other houses.
The betting range is set at a minimum of €0.30 and a max bet of €15.00 units, regardless of the currency being used. This makes sense, considering that Game of Thrones is a medium variance slot machine. The max bet on Thunderstruck 2 was 60.00 units, whilst Immortal Romance went even higher at 90.00 units. To change these calculations to show the total win for different bet sizes, change the number 2.5 in the second row to match the amount shown on the paytable for 5 Baratheon coins.
Stacked Wild Feature
Earlier 243-way slots included a randomly activated stacked wild feature labelled “Wild Storm”, “Wild Desire”, or similar. This is not necessary in Game of Thrones as the reels already have enough stacked symbols to produce the same outcome from any spin. For us, this seems like an unnecessary downgrade – it was always exciting to see the Wild Storm of Wild Desire feature activating and wondering how many reels it would turn into stacked wilds.
It also means that there aren’t really any modifiers to speak of during the base game, so you will be spending the majority of your time whilst playing this slot crossing your fingers hoping to hit three or more scatters to enter the bonus round.

If you are a huge fan of the show, this certainly isn’t the worst online slot out there – the trouble is, for everyone else there are better alternatives just a few clicks away.
