Gates Of Troy Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Unsurprisingly, the legend of the Gates of Troy has formed the basis for numerous computer and video games over the years, but I wasn’t aware of any other online slots with this theme until I began researching for this review. It turns out that there has been at least one previous attempt – IGT’s Treasures of Troy online slot – but it isn’t a very well-known slot and lacks the polish of Play’N’Go’s newer take on the story. And by the way, the original story of Troy has had a huge impact on modern culture, considering that the main literary work of the story is a single archaic poem. However, there was a later Greek epic based on the tale, which is most likely the source of the attention that the Trojan Horse receives.
Over to the paytable and kicking things off, we have the scatter symbols, which will pay you 100x your stake for hitting all five or 10x for four; these aren’t earth-shattering payouts, but they represent a tidy little bonus for hitting some extra scatters before a bonus round. The wild will pay 30x your bet for each full pay line you hit of those, but this will often be doubled to 60x if at least one multiplier wild is included in the winning combination. Topping out the regular symbols is the female queen character with a return of 20x your bet for five-of-a-kind, followed by the male character at 10x, and then the bowl of fruit and jug, which both pay 6.5x your stake each. Other than this, there are just five more royal symbols that make up the reel strips, which feels like a small number altogether.

Base Game & Modifiers
The base game is played on a 5×4 grid, slightly larger than the average size of 5×3 and has 30 fixed paylines for wins to be created upon. All the symbols on the paytable require at least three matches on a pay line from left-to-right to result in a win, except the scatters that pay anywhere. The wild multiplier symbol shows up during both the base game and free spins, but larger multipliers than 2x show up during the bonus round only.
Guaranteed Scatter Modifier
During the base game, a guaranteed scatter modifier can randomly appear at the beginning of a paid spin and place two scatter symbols somewhere on the reel strips. After this, a wave of fire will begin rolling down the remaining three reels to highlight the current opportunity of winning a bonus round.

This isn’t the greatest slot Play’N’Go has ever produced by any means, but it’s a solid effort that is likely to find an audience during its first few months. I doubt the Gates of Troy video slot will become an all-time classic, but this is an excellent choice if you are just looking for something new and different to play.
