Game Overview

I almost always enjoy checking out new games from Pragmatic Play. This developer has come an awful long way since their previous incarnation as “ToPGame”, and the online slots that they produce today are presented every bit as well as those created by the likes of NetEnt and Microgaming. Their new Goblin Heist PowerNudge video slot feels interesting from the moment you hit spin – this is no grid slot, yet wins are paid out for achieving clusters of symbols despite there also being ten regular pay lines. The game has an RTP of 96.47%, however, this drops slightly to 96.44% when playing using the Ante Bet. It’s only a small change, but it still sounds like a bad deal to me. The maximum win is capped at 4,000x your stake per paid spin.

Goblin Heist Power Nudge online slot includes an innovative “Power Nudge” feature which automatically moves winning combinations down one row each time a win is paid, followed by a free re-spin. All of the winning symbols are “sticky”, while the losing symbols are replaced by new ones. This increases your chances of hitting another consecutive win. The imaginative money respin feature replaces the typical free spin-based bonus round of most other online slots.

It all sounds very interesting so far – why not fire up our free demo slot of Goblin Heist Power Nudge now and give it a try for yourself?

Paytable For Goblin Heist Powernudge Slot Game

I often say that basically everything in the world can be said to be a theme for online slots these days, and Goblins are no exception. A quick search on the web for other games based on Goblins turned up 33 results with little effort, so those 33 games could well be just the tip of the iceberg. Examples of the genre include Betsoft’s Enchanted, Kalamba’s Goblins & Gemstones, Yggdrasils’s Trolls Bridge, and Playtech’s Goblin’s Cave. Seriously, there are a whole lot of Goblin-based slots already out there. The question is, does Goblin Heist Power Nudge offer anything new to the genre?

First impressions of the paytable are good – all of the numbers update as you change your stake, which I regard as being an absolutely essential feature in any online slot. It’s so much more difficult to calculate winnings if you have to multiply out the numbers on the paytable yourself. As you might expect, the Goblin is the top paying symbol returning 20x your stake for a full line of five-of-a-kind. He is followed by another strange-looking creature – a troll maybe? – who returns 12.5x your stake for five-of-a-kind. Things begin to drop off quickly after this – the chest returns just 7.5x for a line of all five, with a goblin head completing the high-paying symbols with a return of 5x your bet for five-of-a-kind.

Pragmatic Play always goes with an unnecessarily complex method of selecting your stake – hit the plus or minus controls next to the spin button and a window will open with options to select your “Bet”, and a “Coin Value”. There is also a third set of controls labeled “total bet”. This number changes as you play with the bet and coin value controls, but you can also just press the plus and minus buttons on the section labeled “Total Bet” for a simple way of choosing your stake. The resulting minimum and maximum bets are €0.20 per spin and €100.00 per spin. There just isn’t any reason for the bet and coin value controls to exist because you can simply choose your total bet instead. Sort it out Pragmatic Play!

Base Game & Modifiers

Play With 5 Reels, 10 Paylines, And Win Up To 4,000x Your Bet In Pragmatic Play's Goblin Heist Online Slot

The base gameplay in the Goblin Heist Power Nudge slot game is much more interesting than your average online slot. The game does use a typical 5×3 playfield with ten paylines, which doesn’t sound very interesting until you get to the Power Nudge feature. Let’s talk about that:

Powernudge Feature

Whenever you score a winning combination, your winnings will be paid out and then the PowerNudge feature will kick in, giving you a decent chance of winning additional payouts from the free re-spins that the feature offers.

All of your winning symbols will move down one row, whilst all of the non-winning symbols will be thrown away and replaced by a completely new set of symbols. If the new symbols happen to match your previous winning symbols, you will be paid out again for the new, larger collection of winning symbols.

The Powernudge feature can continue indefinitely, as long as there is a winning combination shown on the reels each time the re-spin completes. I have watched this game continue re-spinning and adding to my winnings for a good couple of minutes on several occasions – it’s a really great feature, and you just never know how big your winnings could end up if the right symbols happen to drop in place.

Goblin Heist Powernudge Bonus Features

The Goblin Heist Power Nudge online slot eschews the typical free spin-based bonus round in place of a feature called “Money Respin”. You can even purchase this bonus for 100x your current stake if you wish, just like the free spin features in other games. The slot also includes an ante bet option which increases your current stake by 25% in return for doubling your chances of hitting the money respin feature. Let’s take a look – it’s very different from your average free spin round, so may take some getting used to even for experienced slots players.

Money Respin Feature

Keep your eyes out for the large, golden dragon head which sometimes lands on the reels. You’ll need to catch six of these on a single spin to activate the money respin feature – unless your jurisdiction permits you to purchase the bonus for 100x your stake.

During the Money Respin feature, all of the normal reel symbols will fade away and be replaced by Mystery Money symbols. This feature ends when you catch a spin that doesn’t feature any Mystery Money symbols, meaning it can end very quickly if you are unlucky or it can go on for several minutes at a time.

At the end of each spin, the Mystery Money symbols will then transform into one of the following special symbols:

  • Money Value – Awards an amount of money between 0.1x and 50x your current total stake.
  • Local Multiplier – This symbol will add a multiplier of 1x, 2x, or 3x to the winnings you have collected from Money Value symbols during the current round.1
  • Global Multiplier – This is the big one, which adds to the bonus round’s final multiplier. The global multiplier will add either 1x, 2x, or 3x to the bonus round’s final multiplier. At the end of the feature, the total collected global multiplier will be applied to your entire bonus round winnings.

Just as in the base game, all winning symbols will be nudged downwards and the game will continue giving free re-spins until you end up with a blank screen and no more Mystery Money symbols. When this happens, the feature will be complete

Goblin Heist Powernudge Slot Review Final Thoughts

What can we say? This game is very different from other online slots, and it’s fantastic to see developers trying something new – especially when it works as well as it does here. I really enjoyed testing this slot and believe it could have some serious big win potential – I’m looking forward to playing the game for real money soon!
