Gods Of Seas Triton’s Demo Slot (Foxium) Slot Demo & Review

The latest developer to try their hand at the scatter-pays genre looks to be Foxium with the release of their new online slot God of Seas – Triton’s Fortune. I’m not entirely sure what platform the developer intended this game to be played on. Still, I have tried it on several, and each time, the symbols and reel set appear slightly squished, somewhat taking away from the otherwise immaculate presentation. The game features 20 fixed paylines, a 2,000x maximum win from the scatter pay symbols, and a 96.20% RTP.

If I’m honest, my first impressions of this game haven’t been fantastic, so I was hopeful that the feature set would redeem the title. The first “feature” mentioned on the paytable is the triton symbol, six or more of which will trigger a scatter pay prize of between 2x and 2,000x your total stake. A “Triton’s Fortune” modifier can trigger randomly on any spin, adding between nine and fifteen triton symbols to the reels, guaranteeing a win of at least 14x your bet. The free spins bonus is slightly more exciting, as it begins with a pair of bonus wheels which can award up to 15 free spins and up to five locked triton symbols, significantly reducing the threshold for hitting a scatter prize.

It all seems like a shaky start for Foxium’s latest slot, but if you would like to try it for yourself, then fire up our free demo slot of God of Seas – Triton’s Fortune below:

Paytable For God Of Seas Triton's Fortune Slot

The oceans might not seem like the most obvious location for a bout of slotting fun, but slot developers obviously think otherwise! It’s impossible to pin down which slot began the trend for underwater slots, but one possible candidate may be Playtech’s Great Blue. Great Blue was released over a decade ago but is still popular with many slots players today who are still trying relentlessly to be the first to win its 150,000x maximum jackpot. There have been countless more recent attempts to create a better ocean-themed slot, including The Greatest Catch, but none has quite managed to topple the legacy of Playtech’s timeless classic. Could Foxium be the one to dethrone Great Blue from its spot as the king of the oceans? Let’s find out!

First, let’s check out the paytable – the highest paying symbol is the treasure chest with a return of 15x the current bet for a complete pay line of five-of-a-kind, followed by the pair of jugs at 10x for all five. The harp will pay you 7.5x for a complete pay line of those symbols, whilst the black pearl shell is worth 6x for five-of-a-kind. Those four symbols make up the entirety of the higher-paying symbols, whilst five lower-paying royals complete the bottom half of the paytable with returns of between 4x and 2x your current bet for each complete pay line. The wild symbol has a premium payout of 25x the bet for a full pay line, although I was not lucky enough to hit such a combination even once whilst I was testing this game.

As for the betting range, the minimum wager per round is set at €0.20, which makes sense as it translates to a penny per pay line. The maximum bet of €120.00 per spin was probably chosen arbitrarily. Still, I cannot imagine many players will be desperate to wager that much every couple of seconds whilst playing this slot.

Base Game & Modifiers

Win Up To 2,000x Your Bet In Across 20 Paylines In The God Of Seas Triton's Fortune Online Slot From Game Provider Foxium

The base game uses a typical 5×3 reel set, but the gameplay is slightly different from many other online slots due to the dual pay tables. The regular paytable awards wins for three or more matching symbols on a pay line starting from the left, whilst the secondary paytable is shown above the reels during the base game and awards cash prizes for hitting six or more of the special triton scatter symbols.

Triton Symbol Payouts

You can recognise the triton symbol by looking for a large bearded man carrying a huge triple-bladed weapon. Found him now? I didn’t think it would take long!

This guy can appear on any spin during the base game and the free spins feature, but you will need to hit at least six of his symbols to score a prize. Whilst the triton symbols can award big payoffs – up to 2,000x your bet – they also end up blocking many regular line hits as well.

Of course, this problem affects all online slots with a scatter-pays paytable, but the issue seems particularly acute here because of the small playfield and the large number of symbols required to score even the lowest 2x win.

Triton’s Fortune Modifier

This base game modifier helps slightly offset the frustration caused by the large number of scatter symbols on the reels. The modifier can trigger before any spin and will add between nine and 15 triton symbols to the reels – yes; this modifier can potentially create a jackpot spin all by itself!

The minimum number of symbols that this modifier awards is nine, which are worth 14x your bet. This isn’t amazing, but at least you can be sure of winning something every time you see this modifier begin to adjust the reel set.

Gods Of Seas Triton’s Fortune Slot Free Spin Feature

Landing A Scatter Symbol On Reels 1, 3, And 5 Will Trigger The Free Spins Feature On The Gods Of Seas Triton's Fortune Video Slot

The free spins feature is triggered by hitting the secondary scatter symbols that only appear on reels one, three, and five. The number of free spins awarded depends on the result of a bonus wheel that will appear before the start of your bonus round.

This feature kicks off with a so-called mini game; first, a free spins wheel will be spun to determine the number of free spins you will receive, which can be either seven, 10, 12, or 15. Next, a “Triton’s Favour” wheel will be spun and award between one and five “favours”.

I’m not sure why the developer decided to go for such an obtuse naming scheme on their paytable – the “favours” spoken about are sticky symbols, and if you hit the maximum of five on the favours wheel, then every spin of your bonus round will begin with five triton scatters already in place.

Considering that you require at least six triton scatters to win yourself a scatter prize, this favours wheel makes it much easier to win a prize from the secondary paytable. The trouble is, even 13 triton symbols will still only pay you 150x your current bet. In my opinion, there isn’t enough potential on that secondary paytable to make it worth having so many additional scatters on the reels.

Gods Of Seas Triton’s Fortune Slot Review Final Thoughts

God of Seas falls slightly short of my expectations for a great online slot – the RTP has been distributed in a very unusual way, so you can end up spinning the base game for a long time without your balance changing much… but trying to hit anything big seems to be extremely difficult. If you enjoy lower variance slots, this game is probably for you, but it doesn’t have enough potential to pay big for my liking.
