Gold Magnate (BGaming) Slot Demo & Review

Online slot developers like to take us on a wild ride through many different countries that span themes ranging from the weird to the wonderful. So, regardless of the name of a slot, you can’t really be sure what will appear on your screen once the game has loaded up. In the case of the BGaming slot Gold Magnate, it’s a journey back in time to 19th century London, where we get to see mingle with the high society folk as they sip their expensive drinks and smoke away on expensive cigars. Before we get stuck in, let’s give you a quick breakdown of Gold Magnate, where I can reveal it to be a 5-reel slot with 10 fixed paylines, an RTP of 96.10%, and a maximum win of 9,990x the bet.

If you were hoping for an action-packed slot game, I’m afraid Gold Magnate will disappoint from the off, with the base game containing no extra modifiers or features of any kind. At least this must mean the bonus round is something to shout from the rooftops about, right? Well, that might depend on how you view it, but once the bonus is activated, six cards with multipliers are placed face down. A hand will roll the dice, and the number at which it stops will be your winning card. Whatever multiplier is then revealed will be awarded as your prize.

Could a trip back in time prove to be a lucrative journey? I’ll let you decide on that answer after you’ve taken our free Gold Magnate demo slot for a spin. It’s available to try below.

Gold Magnate Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Gold Magnate Slot Paytable

The theme used by BGaming in Gold Magnate is quite unique, and it’s hard to compare it to any of the other slots we feature here at Demoslot. There are, of course, plenty based around money, and the closet game theme-wise I can get to today’s review would have to be the Push Gaming slot Fat Banker, so why not give that a try when you’re done catching up on this latest BGaming release.

We’re checking in on the paytable next, and the most valuable symbol in the game is the Banker paying a huge 500x bet for a winning combination of five. The Distinguished Gentlemen is next worth 200x for a complete line, with the Elegant Lady rounding off the premium payers with a return of 50x. That only leaves the lower-value symbols to talk you through, where you’ll find the Ace, King, Queen and Jack with equal returns of 12x, and finally the Ten, with a payout of 3x the bet if five match across a payline

We conclude this section of the review with the bet selection that’s available on Gold Magnate. Real money players can start the reels spinning from a low-roller-friendly €0.10 spin, whilst at the opposite end of the gambling spectrum, high rollers can play up to a maximum of €25.

Gold Magnate Slot Base Game & Modifiers

Gold Magnate Slot Base Game

BGaming’s Gold Magnate slot is played on a simple 5×3 reel matrix with 10 paylines. To create a winning combination, 3 matching symbols must land across an active payline starting from the first reel.

Gold Magnate Slot Bonus Features

Gold Magnate Slot Bonus Feature
Gold Magnate slot bonus feature

There is one solitary bonus round on Gold Magnate, triggered when 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols land in view. It is quite important how many scatters you trigger the feature with, as three will just award a standard win in the bonus, four will multiply the win by x3, and five will multiply it by 10x

Bonus Round

Once triggered, six playing cards with multiplier values are laid face down. A die will then be rolled, and whatever number is shown, the corresponding card will be turned over and its prize awarded.

Pros

  • No real slot experience is required to play the game.

Cons

  • No base game modifiers.
  • A very basic bonus round.
  • What do the multiplier symbols on the cards even do?

Gold Magnate Slot Review Final Thoughts

I'm always happy to see a new BGaming slot, as, for the most part, these are fun games to play and usually include a good feature or two. However, this was not the case with Gold Magnate, and to be honest, I just didn't get this slot one bit. I'm still at a loss as to what the multiplier symbols on the cards mean, and unless you trigger the bonus with at least 3 scatters, it's hard to see how you win the game, too.BGaming has enough credit in the bank here at Demoslot for us not to take too much notice of this slot, but I think you'll agree when you try it that it's just completely bizarre.
