Apart from a few exceptions, few developers have been in the slot game for as long as Blueprint Gaming, a British company established in 2001 that is now a part of the Gauselmann Group in Germany. These guys first made their name by creating physical fruit machines for pubs and betting shops in the UK before shifting focus towards online slots when it became clear this was the way forward. Blueprint has since created a ton of branded slots ranging from the Goonies and Ted to Beavis and Butthead and The Naked Gun and is more recently known as the first developer to license Big Time Gaming’s Megaways to use in many (and I mean many) of its releases. However, today, I’m reviewing something notably different to each of those in Gold Strike, a 6×4 online slot that mixes classic and modern elements, has an RTP of 96%, and a 10,000x max win.
The classic symbols bring the retro feel to Gold Strike, as you’ll spin with reels containing fruits, bells, and sevens, but aside from that, everything you see here is as far from classic as you can get. For a start, the base game includes a Cash Collects feature, which rewards you with instant cash prizes and potentially one of three jackpots, the biggest of which will pay 2,500x your stake. Then there’s the choice of two bonus games, one a free spins bonus with an uncapped progressive multiplier, and the other a Cash Strike feature which gives you an initial single spin (and the chance for more spins and multipliers) to collect up as much cash as possible.

Gold Strike Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Despite the name Gold Strike, I cannot see any link between this slot and that precious metal. The slot really has no theme at all, and it’s obviously designed to look like the fruit machines of old despite coming packed with a bunch of modern features. If it’s true classic gaming you were expecting, you’re better off playing Inspired Gaming’s Respin 7s, a five-payline slot with just a single bonus feature, or Fruit Machine Mega Bonus from Mascot Gaming, which is a ten-line affair with a free spins bonus round.
Okay, we’re dissecting the Gold Strike paytable next, and valued as the highest paying symbol in the game is the Seven, which conjures up a 5x the stake when part of a winning combo of six. The Bell and the Plum offer the same payout of 2.5x for a completed line of sic, with the Lemon and Cherries following sharing rewards of 2x. Dropping onto the lower pays, we find the classic royals, with the Ace and King paying 1.5x, the Queen and Jack 1.2x, and the Ten and Nine offering 1x bet for a six of a kind win.
Gold Strike is not a slot that will endear the hearts of high rollers, as the maximum bet possible is €10.00 per spin, but those of you happy to spin for more modest amounts are covered as the minimum bet to get the reels rolling is just €0.10.
Gold Strike Slot Base Game
Blueprint Gaming’s Gold Strike adopts a 6×4 reel configuration with a total of 4,096 ways to win in play at all times. Players will need to land more matching symbols on consecutive reels starting from the leftmost reel to win a payout.
Wild Symbol
As you spin the reels, the Wild Symbol can land on reels 2,3, 4, 5, and 6 and will substitute for all regular symbols when winning combinations can be formed. As is always the case, the wild will not substitute for special symbols such as the Scatter, Cash Collect, or CashPot.
Gold Strike Cash Collect
Another feature available during the base game is the Gold Strike Cash Collect. Whenever a Cash Collect Symbol lands on the 1st or 6th reels, it will collect the values of any Money Symbols anywhere in view, while it also gives you the chance to win one of the Minor (25x), Major (250x), or Mega (2,500x) fixed jackpots – which you’ll see to the left of the reels. You’ll need the specific CashPot Jackpot symbol to land on the same spin as the Cash Collect.
Gold Strike Slot Bonus Features
One reason I like Gold Strike is the option to choose between one of two bonus games once you land the three or more bonus scatter symbols required to trigger them. I personally had more success with the Wild Strike feature when testing out this slot, but I can see why the Cash Strike feature could prove lucrative with the right kind of luck.
Wild Strike
If you go for the Wild Strike Bonus, you receive 8 free spins no matter how many scatters trigger the feature. There are no longer any cash, jackpot, or collect symbols on the reels for this feature, and your priority will shift to landing Bonus Scatter and Wild Symbols. Each Wild will increase the win multiplier for the feature by 1x up to an unlimited number, while the Scatter awards additional free spins, as you’ll see below:

Cash Strike
The other option is the Cash Strike Bonus Game, which gives you a single spin of reels containing only Money, CashPot, Collect, and Lightning Bolt symbols. You win all the money values at the end of the spin, and the more collected, the better the chance of earning another spin. There is a Cash Strike Trail above the reels, and you’ll receive the following for a certain number of Cash or CashPot symbols collected:
- 9 gives you an additional spin with a 2x multiplier.
- 10 Gives you an additional spin with a 3x multiplier
- 11 rewards you with an additional spin and a 5x multiplier
- 12 unlocks an additional spin with a 10x multiplier
Bonus Buy
You can use a feature buy option, located to the right of the reels on Cash Strike, that costs 75x your current stake. It guarantees at least three scatter symbols and lets you choose one of the two main bonus games.
Pros
- There is a good variety of base game and bonus features to trigger.
- A good mix of old and modern slot elements.
Cons
- There’s nothing particularly groundbreaking in play here.

This is a style of slot machine from Blueprint that you could easily stumble across in your local bookies or amusement arcades, so I'm sure it will be popular with certain players, especially those who gamble in land-based premises as well as online.
