Golden Realms Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
In the intro, I mentioned that I was not overly impressed with some of NetEnt’s most recent slots. Overall, they’ve seemed lacking and tend to rely on looks and presentation over substance. Jack Hammer 3 and Magic Lab were better slots than the rest, but even they secured average ratings from our reviews. The less said about Cursed Treasure, Golden Wheels of Egypt, and Leprechaun Joy, the better, but by all means, go and check them out and see what you make of them.
I’m really hoping NetEnt bucks that recent trend with the release of Golden Realms, so perhaps the symbol payouts can get us on the right track. The Wild, which, as most know, will substitute for all other paying symbols, shares the top spot with the Purple Goddess by offering 50x the stake for a five-in-a-row top combination. The Hercules Character is worth a maximum of 25x, the Winged Horse returns a maximum of 15x, and the Green-Haired Woman pays 12.5x for a five-symbol combo. That just leaves us with the lower paying royals, where you’ll find the Ace and King returning a maximum of 5x, while the Queen and Jack reward up to 3.5x.
The quick bet selection screen contains a couple of dozen possible wager sizes to cater for all types of players. Low rollers will be happy with small bet sizes starting at a minimum of €0.20, whilst those with larger bankrolls can bet as much as €100.00 per round if they wish.

However, it’s not just the graphics, audio, and animations that play a part in that good first impression; it’s also the reel format. Three special features can trigger randomly on any spin, and they are:

Disappointingly, there is nothing different about these spins when compared to the base game. It’s also not possible to re-trigger the free spins bonus.
Bonus Buy
For those with a bankroll that can support it, there is a buy bonus feature that costs 100x your current bet. In return for that outlay, you’re guaranteed to land at least three scatter symbols triggering the free spins bonus.

Golden Realms Slot Review Final Thoughts
Golden Realms looks amazing, and there are some decent random bonus features/modifiers. However, the free spins bonus offers nothing over the base game aside from the fact that the spins are free, which is a huge letdown, as reflected in my overall score of the game.
