How To Play

Like many live game show titles in the Evolution catalogue, Gonzo’s Treasure Map is easy to play and understand, with the betting process being simple and the overall gameplay very straightforward to follow. Let’s take a more detailed look at the format below:

Placing Your Bets

Players begin by placing bets on one or more of the 70 squares on the wall, with the minimum stake to join starting at €0.10 and reaching a maximum of €1,000. Each square represents a potential winning spot, offering opportunities to uncover Gonzo’s treasures.

The Prize Drop

Once betting closes, five blocks fall from the top slot above the wall. These blocks can be:

  • Gold blocks: Awarding a 10x multiplier.
  • Multiplier blocks: Offering a 20x multiplier.

Each block drops into a random column, landing on a stone.

Payouts

If a block lands on a square where you have placed a bet, your wager is multiplied accordingly (10x or 20x). If a block lands on a Gonzo Key stone with your bet, you advance to the bonus round. If a multiplier block lands on a Gonzo Key stone, all bonus round multipliers are doubled, raising the win potential even higher.

Bonus Round

  1. In the bonus round, Gonzo unlocks a new wall of 70 stones, each containing multipliers ranging from 25x to 500x, with a rare X2 double tile. A Ruby block drops from the top slot, and its landing spot determines the outcome:

  1. If it lands on a multiplier, the game ends, and your bet is multiplied.
  2. If it lands on a Double tile, all multipliers on the wall are doubled, and the Ruby block drops again.

The bonus round continues until the Ruby block lands on a multiplier, with the potential for multipliers to double multiple times. Although hitting the x2 double tile several times isn’t going to happen very often, if you’re lucky enough to be part of one of these feature rounds, you’ll receive a high return on your initial stake.

Gonzo's Treasure Map Live Game Review Final Thoughts

The original Gonzo slot from NetEnt might have been a masterpiece, and the follow-up release Gonzo's Quest Megaways may have also been seen as a success by some players and industry commentators, but in my opinion, Gonoz's Treasure Map is the worst game in the collection so far, and quite possibly the last title we see in this famous franchise. I understand that all games are subjective, but since its release and even after the rebrand, Gonzo's Treasure Map Live is a title you rarely hear about or see anyone playing on social media channels. Yes, it quite possibly does have a niche fanbase, but I still think this has to be one of the worst live game show releases by Evolution to date.
