Grace Of Ebisu Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The first scatter-pay slot from Pragmatic Play to use a similar set of gameplay mechanics was, of course, the legendary Sweet Bonanza. That game was a smash hit, a fact that is underlined most obviously by the fact that it has since spawned at least a dozen clone machines. For me, though, I think I’d much rather play that game than Grace of Ebisu – maybe it’s those lovely ‘waifu’ anime-style visuals, but I just find the whole game a lot more attractive than this one overall. Still, there’s very little difference in terms of gameplay other than the global multiplier in the free spins, so just pick the one that suits your own personal tastes the best!
The biggest payouts offered in Grace of Ebisu are paid for hitting between 12 and 30 matching symbols anywhere on the playfield. These are going to be tough to describe; I think… there’s a lady applying makeup with the highest return of 50x for a 12+ symbol combination, followed next by, I’m not sure, a fish? That one will get you 25x your bet back for a maximum 12 symbol hit, closely followed by a frog and a bird of some kind, with payouts of 15x and 12x, respectively. The low-paying royal symbols have returns evenly spaced apart – think 10x the bet for 12+ Aces, 8x the bet for the Kings, 6x the bet for the Queens, all the way down to 2x for the Tens. There’s also a 100x payout for hitting the maximum possible six scatter symbols, which is always a nice touch!
I could probably just copy and paste my usual paragraph about Pragmatic Play’s excellent bet selection setup at this point… but I won’t! The minimum/maximum wagers in regular mode are €0.20 and €100.00, respectively, increased slightly to €0.25 and €125.00 per spin if the ante bet option is used.
Base Game & Modifiers
Scatter-pay games are one of my favourite online slots right now – the format is relatively new, but it’s proven extremely popular with players thanks to its simplicity and exciting gameplay. You’ll need at least eight matching symbols anywhere on the screen to score yourself a winning combination, and with 30 symbol positions, this means you can theoretically win up to four times from the initial symbol drop at the start of each round.
Multiplier Symbols
Four different coloured multiplier symbols appear on the playfield of Grace of Ebisu. These mirror-like symbols offer multipliers of between 2x and 500x, and their value will be applied to all winning combinations that occur during the same round when one or more of them appears.
Note that if more than one multiplier symbol appears during the same game round, their values are added together before being applied to your win!
Ante Bet
I always recommend using bonus bet options, provided that doing so does not reduce the game’s RTP. This ante bet facility increases your stake by 25%, but in return, you will receive a 100% boost in your chances of triggering a bonus round.
Grace Of Ebisu Slot Bonus Features
You’ll need to hit at least four bonus scatter symbols to trigger 15 free spins in Grace of Ebisu. There’s no benefit as far as the feature is concerned if you hit five or six scatters, but you do at least receive a little cash bonus for doing so – up to 100x for a maximum six-scatter trigger.
Free Spins
In this mode, the multiplier symbols present in the base game occur more frequently than usual, and their values are also stored permanently in a meter for the duration of the bonus round. When a series of win cascades end, as long as a new multiplier symbol has been added to the meter, the total sum of it will be applied to the final win. The feature can also be re-triggered by hitting three more scatter symbols whilst the bonus round is in play.
Bonus Buy
Provided that such features are permitted within your country or jurisdiction, you can purchase a set of free spins at 100x the normal price per spin.
Pros

- Multiplier symbols that activate for just one symbol are a great feature – especially when they max out at a 500x multiplier!
Cons
- Pragmatic Play, couldn’t we please have a 10,000x jackpot cap instead of 5,000x? It seems insane to enforce such a low cap on a game with 500x multiplier symbols!
Final Thoughts
If you liked Starlight Princess and Gates of Hades, then there’s no reason you shouldn’t also enjoy this slot – the game engine is tried and tested at this point, and it’s a lot of fun! I do think this slot has had enough clones now though, Pragmatic Play!
