Game Overview
What would you say if you were on a game show in a quick-fire question round and were asked to name a rainforest? The Amazon? Yep, me too. It has to be the most well-known of them all, right? But there are actually ten in total around the world. Anyway, store that in your memory banks just in case it pops up on your local quiz night and let’s get into today’s review, which is the Pragmatic Play slot Guarana Eyes of the Amazon. See, there was a reason I was rambling on at the start; the theme is relevant. Moving on to the stats, this is a cluster pays machine, with an RTP of 96.50% and a maximum win of 5,000x bet.
The game utilises the tumbling reels mechanic, meaning that when a win occurs, all symbols involved in that winning combo are removed from the reels and replaced with new ones for additional chances to win. Furthermore, as the symbol explodes, it will leave behind a multiplier spot. If you then create a win upon one of those positions, the value of the multiplier will be applied to your win, and it will also increase in size. The last of the main features is the free spins round, triggered when a minimum of three scatters appear in view. During this bonus, any multiplier spots that are gained will not reset between losing spins. Last up for those who like to get into the thick of the action fast is the bonus buy option. This will send you straight into the free spins for the cost of 100x your bet.
Are you ready to explore the 6.7 million kilometres of the mighty Amazon? Sounds like hard work to me. Why not just try out our free demo slot of Guarana Eyes of the Amazon instead. It will be a lot easier on the legs, believe me.
Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
We’re certainly no strangers to a fruit-themed slot here at demoslot, and if you browse through our catalogue of games, you’ll find it teeming with titles based on all kinds of weird and wonderful produce. If I had to pick a couple for you to try out, I’d suggest Slotmill’s Super Fruit Smash, which is popular on the site, and Hacksaw Gaming’s 2023 release, Keep Em’ Cool, which is set on a tropical desert island. Back to today’s slot, and you might be wondering what Guarana has to do with the Amazon. Well, I can tell you that this climbing plant is native to the Amazon Forest, and as it matures, its seeds resemble the human eye, and hence we have the phrase ” eyes of the amazon ” See, you do learn something in our reviews too, don’t you?
The theme is interesting, but the values of the wins can ultimately make or break a slot, so let’s take a look at how the game shapes up in the paytable. At the top of the tree and the highest paying symbol, we have the Guava worth 150x for clusters of 15 or more. Next is the Guarana, which will pay 100x, followed by the Purple Berry at 60x. Then comes the jackfruit at 40x, a Passionfruit at 30x, the Potato at 25x, and finally, the Coconut at 20x for clusters of 15 upwards.
One of the things I like most about Pragmatic Play slots is the huge amount of stakes they make available for players to use. The minimum bet on Guarana Eyes of the Amazon is just €0.20, and there are dozens of intermediate bets to choose from before reaching the maximum price of play, which is €100.
Base Game & Modifiers
Guarana Eyes of the Amazon is a gird slot played over a reel format of 7×7, totalling 49 positions for symbols to appear on. You can bank some cash by matching at least five symbols adjacent to each other anywhere within the playfield. This will then trigger the tumbling reels mechanic, eliminating winning symbols from the reels and dropping new symbols down to replace them.
Multiplier Spots
Whenever a winning symbol explodes, it will leave a mark on the grid. The second time this happens in the same position, a multiplier starting from x2 in value will appear where the mark was. This will then double in value every time one or more symbols explode on it, up to a maximum of 128x.
Guarana Eyes Of The Amazon Slot Bonus Features
The bonus scatter symbols within the game can appear on every reel, and you’ll only need to land 3 for the bonus round to be triggered. Hitting 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 scatters will award 10, 12, 15, 20, or 30 free spins, respectively. It’s also possible for multiple re-triggers to occur in the bonus feature, and if you’re lucky enough to get even one, it can make a massive difference to the overall outcome and how much you win.
Free Spins
The free spins feature plays pretty much identically to the base game but with one significant difference, which can really help you stack up your wins. Instead of your spot multipliers resetting at the end of each spin, they will remain in place with their respective values, allowing you to build them further. This is why landing a re-trigger or two can drastically increase your chances of hitting the 5,000x max win.
Bonus Buy
Are you a player who likes to get straight into the action? Well, if you’re playing from a jurisdiction where the bonus buy button is active within the game, you can access the free spins for 100x the current stake.
Pros
- Uses popular game mechanics.
- Huge multipliers can come into play.
Cons
- The max win of 5,000x is low for a grid slot with multipliers.
- It's a clone of previously released slots.
Guarana Eyes of the Amazon Slot Review Final Thoughts
I really enjoyed the theme of Guarana Eyes of Amazon, and as always Pragmatic Play has done a fantastic job with the graphics and overall development of the slot. I would have been happy to score this game with a higher score, but if you're a regular slot player, you will have noticed this game is just a clone of their previous title Sugar Rush, which is an amazing game in its own right. So this one only scored lower due to it not really offering anything new at all. Great game, though and highly recommended; it's just a shame the max win isn't a little higher.
