Halloween Bonanza Slot (BGaming) Slot Demo & Review

Bonanza; it seems to be the word of the moment with slots developers. The timing is slightly surprising in my eyes – why not directly after the release of Big Time Gaming’s original Bonanza slot? It’s a mystery, I guess, although it isn’t quite as fascinating as Jack the Ripper or D.B. Cooper, is it? Still, you have a buzzword; you combine it with the festival of the moment – Halloween – and surely you are guaranteed success, right? BGaming must believe so, as their new grid slot Halloween Bonanza combines these things with a 95.84% RTP for their latest online slot and a maximum win of 10,000x bet.

Feature wise; we’ve got a free spin bonus round, predictably triggered by hitting four or more pumpkin scatter symbols. Once you reach it, your spins will benefit from additional multiplier symbols with values of up to 100x. Bonus buy and bonus bet facilities are also included for those with a little less patience. Still, as ever, the bonus buy option is disabled if you live in a jurisdiction that prohibits such options.

Are you excited at the combination of Halloween with a Bonanza? Contain your excitement for a moment, stop shaking, and hit our free demo slot of Halloween Bonanza below – no medication is required to fix this issue!

Halloween Bonanza Slot Paytable
Halloween Bonanza slot paytable

I wouldn’t be surprised if you are becoming tired of Halloween-themed slots by now; just this year, we’ve already had stacks of such games, including Book of Halloween and Jack’o’Lanterns Mystery Mirror, and those are just two out of at least a dozen new Halloween-themed games pushed out the door by slot developers this year alone. Still, Halloween is fun, slots are fun, and who doesn’t love a good bonanza? I’d say that’s reason enough to give this one a go, wouldn’t you?

Talk is cheap, of course, but winnings are not! So how does the paytable stack up? Well, our pumpkin-shaped scatter symbol tops off the paytable and will pay you 100x your current bet if you can land all five on a single spin. As for the regular symbols, we have a female character wearing red, who will pay you between 4x and 20x your bet depending on the number of symbols that appear on a single spin. All symbols function as scatters in this game, so you don’t need to land them on adjacent positions to bag yourself a win. This makes it much easier to hit the biggest prizes for 12 or more symbols, which explains why the top payouts are relatively low compared to other grid slots. A guy that strongly resembles Frankenstein is next, with a payout of up to 10x your bet for 12 or more symbols in view, followed by a mummy-type being with his head wrapped in yellow cloth at 6x, and a scary looking ghostly dude with a blue cloth over his head will pay you 4.8x for 12-of-a-kind. There are five lower-paying disc-shaped symbols with prizes ranging from 4x for the red one down to 0.8x for the purple disc… guess which one I hit 12 of several times? I hope you’ll get luckier than I did when playing this game!

There’s a 100-fold betting range starting at €0.20 per spin, maxing out at a sensible figure of €20.00 for each round. So, regardless of the size of your bankroll, you’ll find a stake size here that you’re happy to play with.

Base Game & Modifiers

Halloween Bonanza Online Slot Operates On The Cluster Pays Mechanic

The base game utilises a 6×5 playfield for a total of 30 positions. That’s a reasonable number considering that you only need 12 matching symbols anywhere on the screen to receive the top payout for each symbol. Still, despite this, I struggled to hit more than nine identical symbols of anything but the lower-paying coin symbols whilst I was testing the game.

Chance X2 Ante Bet

If you are willing to pay 25% on top of the regular price per spin, you can double your chances of hitting a bonus round. Note that the prizes for all regular winning combinations do not increase when this option has been enabled; it simply increases your odds of making it to the bonus game, presumably by doubling the number of scatter symbols on the reels.

Halloween Bonanza Slot Bonus Features

Land A Minimum Of Four Scatter Symbols And The Free Spins Feature Will Be Triggered On Halloween Bonanza

You’ll need to hit at least four pumpkin symbols to win yourself a bonus round, and the game will also award you a 3x bet cash prize for hitting those four scatters too. Hitting five scatters increases the cash prize to 5x your bet, whilst the maximum of six scatters has a much bigger prize of 100x the current stake.

Free Spins

During this mode, the game plays similarly to the base game, except a new multiplier cauldron symbol is added to the reel strips. These cauldrons can boost your winnings by a random amount between 2x and 100x, with all winning symbol sets subject to this improved payout. This means that the highest-paying wild symbol may be worth 10,000x your stake, which is a tantalising proposition, but how often this might occur is a complete mystery.

The highest-paying regular symbol – the lady in red – would be worth 5,000x your bet with a 100x multiplier, too, so I suspect that those combinations are also going to be especially rare. On the other hand, the lowest paying purple coin would be worth 200x with a 100x multiplier, so expect to see that one relatively frequently.

Bonus Buy

If you wish, you can purchase a bonus round for 100x, the regular spin price. I tested this option around a dozen times whilst I was writing this review and came out in profit roughly 70% of the time, which sounds great at first, but bear in mind that the other 30% resulted in near enough a complete bust, which gives you an idea of where all of those profitable features are funded from!
