Chests Of Fortune Fireball Bonus
Through the use of the Reel Adventure™ at the bottom of the game reels Big Time Gaming give us our very own hero to follow. He opens chests that he comes across to reveal 1 of 4 bonuses that will give a reel enhancement between reels 2 -5, it will take between 1 to 5 spins for him to open a chest.
The fireball bonus when activated can add up to a maximum of 4 flaming wilds, one per reel.
Chests Of Fortune Symbol Bonus
The symbol bonus will see our hero reveal either 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, or Ace from the chest, whichever symbol he reveals will turn into a wild if it lands anywhere in view between reels 2 – 5.
Chests Of Fortune Sword Bonus
Arguably the best of these bonuses and the one with the most paying potential is the sword bonus, if this is activated on the reel adventure then up to 3 full reel multipliers with a max of x7 can be put in place by our hero. If you get a good set up on the reels with this then you could be looking at a win that is well over 300x your stake.
Chests Of Fortune Gem Symbol Bonus
The most significant of the chest bonuses, and also one that can again pay you handsomely if you fall lucky is the gem symbol bonus. This is how you trigger the feature on Holy Diver, and collecting the 4 coloured gems from the chests and completing the shield will finish your current level, and give you the opportunity to initiate the free spins bonus.
Each time you collect a coloured gem from a chest for that spin only any that land between reels 2 -5 will become wild. This can be a particularly good bonus if you are on level 2 or 3 as the gems will become x2 or x3 wilds respectively. It’s worth mentioning that 1, 2, 3 or all 4 gems can be revealed at any one time from a chest.
Players should note that during any of these bonuses the slow roll can also be initiated, this is a unique feature to Big Time Gaming slots where the reels will lock on to a particular symbol and give you a chance of completing that symbol multiple ways across all 6 reels.
Holy Diver Shield Of Fortune Free Spins Bonus
Upon collecting the four gems and completing the shield you are given a choice on Holy Diver, you can either take 10 free spins at level 1, or you can again collect the 4 gems to reach level 2. The same decision awaits you at level 2, you can either take 10 free spins or carry on to achieve the highest level of 3.
This is Big Time Gaming’s way of letting you choose the volatility of your bonus, if you spin the reels at level 1 then all gems that land between reels 2 -5 will become wild, this is the lowest volatility bonus that offers you a maximum of 117,649 ways to win.
Collecting level 2 will again see all gems that land between reels 2 – 5 becoming wild but this time with a x2 value, this is the medium volatility bonus that offers you a maximum of 396,900 ways to win.
Level 3 will also see all gems landing between reels 2 – 5 becoming wild and these will have a x3 value. This bonus is the most volatile and can offer you up to 586,971 ways to win.
Once the free spin feature has begun you will notice that our hero is once again running along the bottom of the reels. Before the reels stop for each spin he will strike down an enemy and if you are lucky he we will reveal a diamond, for the first 4 diamonds he collects you will receive an extra free spin for each. If you are lucky enough for him to collect 5 then you will re-trigger the bonus and receive an extra 8 spins. This cycle then starts again and gives you further chances to re-trigger the bonus.
To really stand a chance of hitting a massive win on Holy Diver Megaways™ you need to be seeing at least one re-trigger, this is vitally important especially if you are playing a level 2 or 3 bonus. The reason for this is that when you are playing your original 10 spins each reel will contain between 2 and 7 symbols, if you re-trigger the bonus then this will increase to 4 to 7 symbols, another re-trigger will increase this further to 6 – 7 symbols and all additional re-triggers will see each reel hold the maximum of 7 symbols.
When you hit a re-trigger you will see that any reel that now contains less than the amount of symbols it should now have on it will extend in size, this can give you some massive wins, and if you’re on a level 2 or 3 bonus then the multipliers are how this can give you the maximum amount of ways for each respective bonus.
Holy Diver Megaways Slot Review Final Thoughts
It would seem from our gameplay on Holy Diver so far that you need to get some luck in the base game to keep your balance ticking over, if not it can be costly to reach level 1 let alone level 3. None of the bonuses that we have triggered so far have paid anything astronomical, but we have had some good success with the sword bonus in the base game.
Adding a new game mechanic is always going to be met with a mixed reaction, but BTG have plenty of experience in this by already introducing us to Megaways™ and the feature drop™. It’s going to be an exciting time ahead now that this new addition is upon us and we will wait to see if this is going to be another success story for Big Time Gaming.
