Hot Slot™ 777 Crown is obviously intended to look like an old-school fruit machine. There are several “traditional” which were used in those games, all of which appear here – lemons, plums, melons, oranges, cherries, you get the idea. The Crown mentioned in the games title is used as the scatter symbol, which has a decent payout attached to it, yet no bonus round? I guess the idea behind this slot was to create something simple which might appeal to players who are just transitioning from playing the fruit machines in their regular drinking hole, to playing online slot machines.
So just how good are the pay outs for the crown symbol? 50x your stake if you catch all five, or 10x your stake if you only manage four. That isn’t amazing, to be honest, but this should indicate that the combination will be somewhat easier to hit than five scatters in most other online slots. That is only speculation, of course, but it is supported by the fact that there are only eight different symbols on the reels of this game.
The Lucky Seven symbol is actually the “big one” in Hot Slot™ 777 Crown video slot, paying 250x your stake for a full line of five-of-a-kind. Things drop off VERY quickly after this, however; five melons or grapefruit return just 25x your bet, whilst the remaining fruits all pay 10x your stake for five-of-a-kind.

- High volatility mode – Pick this mode and you can hit “BIG WINS”, supposedly, but the help files admit that wins of any kind will be somewhat infrequent compared to the lower modes. High volatility mode is ideal for the player who is not afraid of taking a risk for a shot at a huge win.

It would be easy to dismiss this game for its lack of modifiers and features; other games which lack these things such as NetEnt’s Starburst are truly terrible, and yet Wazdan’s attempt here somehow feels much better than what NetEnt did with Starburst.
If you are new to playing online slots, this is a good game to get started with as far as getting your head around the mechanics and the way things work. I cannot imagine it appealing to the larger group of players who are experienced with these games and spend their time playing Megaways sots with a maximum win of 50,000x to 100,000x… it makes the 305x jackpot of this game look like a joke in comparison.
But of course, it isn’t a joke – it’s a completely different type of game, designed to appeal to a different section of the market, and I actually think that, for what it is, Hot Slot™ 777 Crown isn’t a bad little online slot.
