Jade Of The Jungle (Jelly) Slot Demo & Review

Most online slots are easy to categorise – they use some specific mechanics or arrangements which are easy to compare to other games you have seen in the past. None of that stuff applies to the innovative, original, and entirely unique Jade of the Jungle Slot from game provider Jelly that we will be looking at today, however; this is like nothing I have ever seen before. There are some aspects we can provide a reference point for, however; the RTP is casino-selectable, with a “normal” setting of 95.3%; the maximum win is 2,976x your stake, and then with respect to the pay lines… there are two independent sets of seven lines, each set to their own 3×3 set of reels.

There isn’t too much to cover by way of features and mods; the primary bonus round is a free spin-based affair, which seems like a very strange and boring choice for a game that is designed to be as different and unusual as possible. A “Super Stake” feature does little to add excitement, as it only acts to increase your odds of hitting “insanely valuable winning combinations!” … if you accept the definition given on the game’s paytable that is, anyway.

This is definitely a game you will want to try yourself before throwing any real money at it – it’s going to be a “Love it or hate it” kind of game, I suspect. You are in luck, of course, because our free demo slot of Jade of the Jungle is available right now on all compatible devices.

Paytable For Jade Of The Jungle Slot

George of the Jungle was an animated series first shown on television back in 1967. It only ran for a single season and chronicled various adventures of Tarzan in his escapades through a bizarrely comedic jungle setting. Despite its short run, George of the Jungle was resurrected in 1997 as a feature film created by Disney. Several characters from the original series returned and we got to see George hook up with the love of his life, Ursula, and have a son – George Junior. That seems to be a huge thing in the states, doesn’t it … calling your child Junior? I’ve never known anybody do this in my own country. But all this aside, Jade of the Jungle is clearly supposed to be a female version of our old hero George – everyone has to be female these days, don’t they?

Over to the paytable, where a full line – just three symbols here – of the top-paying wild symbol pays out 14x your current bet. The scatters have no payout of their own, which seems to be a theme with Jelly’s slots, unfortunately. The remaining high-paying symbols include a Jade gemstone – very clever, Jelly – paying 10x your stake, two totem-style faces which pay 4x your stake for all three, and then two animal heads which pay 2x and 1x for a full line of three-of-a-kind. The two reel sets only interact when scatters appear on both sets simultaneously – there is no bonus for getting a line of matching symbols across the top of both reel sets, for example.

Jelly usually has a separate page for setting your stake, but Jade of the Jungle does away with this convention and instead just uses two simple controls to increase or decrease the current stake. The minimum bet is set at €0.25 per spin, whilst the maximum is pegged at a monstrous €125.00 per spin – surely €100 would have been enough, Jelly?!

Base Game & Modifiers

Jelly's Jade Of The Jungle Online Slot Comes With 2 Sets Of Reels, 14 Paylines, And A Maximum Win Of 2,976x Bet

The play area consists of two independent sets of 3×3 reels, each with its own set of seven paylines. Both reel sets work in the same way, and there are no bonuses for getting any special combinations that span them both. This seems like a missed opportunity – much more could have been done with this unique layout. You can only hit two scatters on each side of the screen at once, but you will need a minimum of three to trigger the games feature.

Super Stake Feature

I felt as if I had to split this out into its own section just to give Jade of the Jungle something else to add to its pitiful list of features. The Super Stake option increases your chances of hitting big wins, supposedly, and activates a modifier which can trigger randomly and remove everything but a single symbol and the wild from the reels.

Upon reading this, I had to see it for myself – surely that would mean that every screen would be a full screen of matching symbols? It didn’t take long for the “Super Stake” feature to activate, and what the paytable fails to mention is that the reels also contain blank spaces as well as the wilds and single symbol mentioned. The paytable also suggests that you can receive multiple spins in this special mode too, but I never saw more than one single “Super Stake” spin.

If you like the super stake mode – and I’m not sure why you would – then be careful, as the feature is automatically deactivated as soon as the feature completes. This doesn’t happen when using the auto play feature, but if that option has been disabled in your jurisdiction, watch out for super stake being disarmed automatically after the special feature has activated.

Jade Of The Jungle Slot Bonus Free Spins Feature

I guess we should talk about the free spins feature, too. Hitting three scatter symbols will award eight free spins, whilst hitting the maximum of four will up this to twelve free spins.

The free spins do have one nice saving graxe, which is that for each scatter which lands during this mode, a low-paying symbol will be removed from the reels. If this happens often enough during your feature, all you will be left with is a reel set packed with top paying symbols – nice.

Here’s my problem, however – the top symbol is the wild with a return of 14x your stake for a full line of three-of-a-kind. There are fourteen pay lines, seven on each side of the screen. Doesn’t this mean that the maximum you can win from a single spin during the feature is fourteen times 14x your stake?

You do receive one or two extra free spins for each scatter which lands during the feature though, so it is possible you could have a decent number of free spins paying 196x your stake each time. I still find it hard to see how you would make it up to almost 3,000x your stake, but I guess the manufacturer knows best…

Jade Of The Jungle Slot Review Final Thoughts

I’ve really enjoyed playing all of Jelly’s games so far, and whilst there is nothing inherently wrong with Jade of the Jungle, it lacks much of the sparkle that other games from this developer feature. With a little more work, this dual reel setup could be great – there is undoubtedly lots of potential here. Jelly is going to have to put a little more effort in though to make a dual reel’s game that I would whole-heartedly recommend.
