Keno Deluxe (Realistic Games) Slot Demo & Review

I’ve been a fairly hardcore gambler for over a decade now – whether it’s slots, table games, speciality games, casinos, or bookmakers, I enjoy it all. I’ve become fairly disciplined over the years, suffering my odd devastating loss to teach me the lessons we all need to learn to engage in this pastime over the long term. Despite these facts, I’ve never truly understood the differences between Bingo and Keno – in a live setting; I always assumed it was nothing more than automated vs human-based drawing. Before we delve deeper into that aspect of things though, first let me tell you the basics of Realistic Games Keno Deluxe – this is an 80-ball Keno variant that offers a 94.35% – 96.20% RTP alongside a fantastic (although horrendously unlikely) jackpot of 10,000x the total bet.

So just what is the difference between Keno and Bingo? The main change to the formula of these games is that whereas bingo players purchase cards with numbers already scribed onto them, Keno players get to choose their own numbers. In many Keno variations, you’ll be allowed to select up to 20 numbers out of a pool of 90 – this variant is a tad different at 15 numbers out of 80, but as this results in better odds for the player, I’m okay with that.

Never played Keno before? If you’re a bingo fan, you’ll almost certainly enjoy this lottery-like game as well. Why not give it a try with our Keno Deluxe demo, available to play below.

As far as I’m aware, this is the first Keno-style game that we have looked at here at Demoslot, but we have looked at a whole bunch of Slingo games in the past, such as Cosmic Clusters and Slingo Stampede, although those games are more of a bingo/slot hybrid and so don’t really relate too well to games such as this one. Despite my limited familiarity with Keno-style games, I feel that this is a good example of the genre – the user interface is well-designed and easy to understand, and the top prize on offer seems up there with the best of them as far as I can tell.

Another aspect of Keno which may prove alien to some bingo players is the ability to choose how many numbers you wish to pick. With 15 numbers selected, matching zero or one number is less likely than hitting three or four, meaning you will win 4x or 1x your bet for zero or one matching number, respectively. Two, three, or four numbers will cause you to lose your entire bet, after which the real paytable starts with notable prize stages at ten numbers (50x bet), 12 numbers (1,500x bet), and a full house of 15 for a jackpot of 10,000x the total stake.

Betting options are fairly limited, but as you are paying for a full round of play rather than individual spins, I don’t see that as a problem. You have minimum/maximum permitted wagers of €0.20 and €10.00 per round, respectively, with a handful of other bets allowed between that range.

To play a round of Keno, you’ll start by picking your numbers. You can do this manually using the full grid or can use the quick selection bar displayed underneath that area of the screen. You can opt for just one number or a maximum of 15, but note that the prizes shown on the paytable will update as you increase or decrease the number of picks. Next, choose your bet amount, have a quick glance at the paytable to see how much you can win, and then hit go to start.

There are three game speed options, although not all of these may be available in some regions due to regulatory requirements. From there on in, things progress just like a game of bingo or lottery.

Keno Deluxe Bonus Features

Unfortunately, there are no additional bonus features in the Keno Deluxe.

Pros

  • The RTP is much higher than I have seen offered at land-based Keno games.
  • Well-designed user interface with lots of options to keep things interesting.

Cons

  • It probably won’t appeal to those who only really enjoy playing slots, but for me, Keno and other table games provide a nice change from spinning the reels during an extended session.

Final Thoughts

This is the first table game I’ve tried from Realistic, and I’m impressed by their user interface design skills. The jackpot and RTP both seem reasonable, and I found myself playing this game for quite a bit longer than I initially expected when I first started writing this review. Give it a look – you might be surprised at just how much fun this style of game can be.
