Kiss My Chainsaw (Nolimit City) Slot Demo & Review

Welcome to Texas! Proudly boasts the banner along the top of Nolimit City’s latest online slot Kiss My Chainsaw – an obvious nod to the 1974 cult classic horror flick The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. At least, I hope that’s what it’s referring to – nobody enjoyed the 2022 reboot after all, did they? The game comes with an RTP of 96.10% and uses an unusual payout mechanic known as ‘connected payways’, which I do remember seeing before once or twice – just not often enough to remember the names of any slots which happened to use it! The top win is capped at 10,900x the total bet – a little low by Nolimit City’s standards, but still more than enough to attract all but the most degenerate of high volatility slot fiends!

NLC’s online slots are notorious for being packed with special features, but the developer seems to have scaled things back a little just recently – Kiss My Chainsaw still contains lots of fun things to find and experience, but just as with their previous Blood & Shadow release, it’s not overly complicated to the degree that you’ll need to spend an hour reading a couple of dozen information pages before you will fully understand it! We’ll still have lots to discuss later on, including a playfield expansion feature, charged wild symbols, multiple free spin modes, and the coup-de-gras – the Chainsaw Larry Spins! As is typical of this provider, a bonus buy facility offers quick access to all the game’s best features.

Are you ready to go on the rampage with your chainsaw? If so, bring your camera with you – perhaps you can create a better Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel than the 2022 version! Just kidding – don’t go cutting anyone up with your hedge trimmer. Try out our free demo slot of Kiss My Chainsaw instead! It’s available to play below:

Kiss My Chainsaw Slot Paytable
Kiss my Chainsaw slot paytable

The humble chainsaw doesn’t get nearly enough love in the online slot world, as far as I’m concerned! In fact, this insanely overpowered piece of gardening machinery currently seems to be exclusive to Nolimit City’s slots only – the only other game in our library to match the term is Serial, another horror-inspired game produced by none other than NLC. I guess there’s always Canine Carnage from Play’N’Go available as well – if the thought of dogs wielding chainsaws doesn’t freak you out too much – but that game is far inferior to both Kiss My Chainsaw and Serial as far as I’m concerned.

There are two sets of paytables included in Kiss My Chainsaw, which seems a little unnecessary in my eyes – the symbols featured in each are similar yet different, but all of the payouts remain the same anyway? I guess the idea is that the Chainsaw Larry paytable is meant to represent a darker reality than the regular one, and if that is indeed correct, then I guess it’s not such a bad inclusion.

The highest-paying male character symbol will award you 3.5x your bet for a full payway of five of a kind, followed by the two females who are worth 2.5x and 2x the bet for all five symbols, respectively. The ‘Route 66’ sign will earn 1.75x for a complete payway, after which we’re onto an eclectic assortment of random objects that make up the lower-paying half of the table. The toolbox is worth 1.25x for all five symbols, followed by the license plate at 1x, the backpack at 0.75x, keys at 0.6x, a camera at 0.45x, and finally, a zippo lighter which has a return of 0.4x for a five-of-a-kind combination.

Plenty of different betting options are available on the quick bet selection screen, starting and finishing with wagers of €0.20 and €200.00 per spin, respectively. Whilst there are a large number of different bets available, it’s important to note that these are very widespread – so you should be able to find a bet to suit you, but the jumps between wagers do become very large towards the upper end of the range.

Base Game & Modifiers

Kiss My Chainsaw Slot Base Game

The default reel set used in Kiss My Chainsaw features five columns of four rows each, although this can be increased via certain features that we’ll be discussing shortly. What’s important to mention right now is the unusual ‘connected payway’ payout mechanic.

To score a win in this game, you’ll need to line up matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the left. Each symbol also needs to be located either directly horizontally to the previous one or in a position that is just one place above or below it. A grid of this size would typically result in 1,024 pay ways, but this restriction of requiring all symbols to be linked at the sides or corners reduces this to just 259.

Wild Symbols

Kiss My Chainsaw includes a variety of different wild symbols, all of which can only appear on reels two through five. The normal wilds require no further explanation, but the charged variety is much more interesting – these symbols show a gas or fuel level on top of them and will remain on the reels until this level is entirely depleted.

Each time a charged wild is included in a winning combination, its multiplier value will be doubled for the next win that it is included in. There are also some Chainsaw Larry Wilds, but these only show up during the free spins feature of the same name.

Kiss My Chainsaw Slot Bonus Features

During the base game, bonus scatter symbols can land on reels one, three, and five. If exactly two scatters happen to land on the same row, a ‘burnout’ will be triggered. This will destroy all symbols on the screen, allowing a new set of symbols to fall in to replace them.

Free Spins

Hitting all three scatter symbols will always award you some free spins, but there are two different modes which can be activated depending on certain conditions. If three scatters land on different rows, you’ll be awarded eight spins of ‘The Ride’. Meanwhile, three scatters landing on the same row will activate nine spins of ‘The Last Ride’ instead.

The former free spin mode (‘The Ride’) adds one additional row, creating a 5×5 playfield. In this mode, charged wild symbols have additional fuel in the tank, potentially allowing them to multiply their value up to four times before they are destroyed.

Landing two scatters during the free spins feature will add one additional free spin to your remaining total. If all three possible scatters land, it’s your lucky day – you’re remaining feature will be upgraded to the Chainsaw Larry spins, and you’ll also have three more spins added to your remaining counter.

If you landed your initial three scatter symbols on the same row and received ‘The Last Ride’ free spins, the only difference here is that every round comes with a guaranteed scatter symbol on reel five.

Chainsaw Larry Spins

The big bad bonus of Kiss My Chainsaw is dubbed the Chainsaw Larry Spins and comes with an additional enhancer reel that contains several win-boosting upgrades. Chainsaw Larry can appear as a jumping wild, moving to random positions between each round. Should he land on top of any high-paying character symbols, the global win multiplier is increased by 1x.

The enhancer reel can sometimes land a smiley face symbol, which adds one extra free spin to your remaining total. There’s also a ‘Lucky Feet’ mode, which will cause Larry to leave behind a wild symbol when he moves from one position to another. If Larry lands on a charged wild symbol, an afterburner feature will activate, which adds a 2x multiplier to every symbol on the screen.

There’s one more enhancer reel feature that will be a real treat for Nolimit City devotees – the xSplit feature! This has appeared in many games from this developer and causes all character symbols to divide into two halves, increasing the number of active payways and boosting the global win multiplier by 1x.

Bonus Buy

If the bonus buy feature is available in your jurisdiction, then the following options are available for you to activate.

  • The Ride Free Spins: Costs 66x bet.
  • The Last Ride Free Spins: Costs 155x bet.
  • Lucky Dip: Costs 111x bet.

Pros

  • Interesting, connected payways mechanic.
  • Loads of features to discover and enjoy.
  • Higher than the average maximum win of almost 11,000x the total bet.

Cons

  • I’m not sure that the varying symbols in the Chainsaw Larry spins were necessary, considering that there is no change to their values.
  • The Last Ride free spins don’t offer much over the regular Ride spins.

Kiss My Chainsaw Slot Review Final Thoughts

What can we say? Kiss My Chainsaw is another big release from the undisputed kings of mature and horror-themed online slots, and in some ways, provides a sequel to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre that does the original movie justice in a way that the reboot certainly did not. You won’t have much more fun playing with chainsaws than what you’ll find on offer here, that’s for sure!
