Game Overview

It’s hard to believe that almost five years have passed since Play’N’Go released their Legacy of Egypt online slot! I was a massive fan of the game when it first landed at online casinos in April 2018, primarily because of the apparent ease with that you could re-trigger the free spins seemingly indefinitely. Today we are being treated to a sequel of sorts titled Legacy of Inca, and whilst there are numerous parallels between the two games, there’s plenty more worth getting excited about here too. The default RTP setting of 96.29% is a tad lower than the Egypt-themed game, which also used 30 paylines rather than the 20 available in this one. The top win has received a slight boost to a not-insubstantial 6,500x the total bet.

The base game of Legacy of Inca does not have any special features to speak of, but there sure is an interesting bonus round! You need to get lucky first, as the number of free spins awarded is determined by the ‘Wheel of the Gods’. Each free spin benefits from up to nine wild symbols – the exact number is determined randomly before each free spin – and hitting two further scatter symbols whilst the bonus is in play will return you to the Wheel of the Gods, where additional ‘Temple Spins’ can be won.

If (like me) you have been waiting for another Legacy of Egypt game, then I sure hope that you stumble upon this review! You can give this game a spin for yourself with our free demo slot of Legacy of Inca – available to play below.

Legacy Of Inca Slot Paytable
Legacy of Inca slot paytable

Legacy of Inca is not the first new entry in Play’N’Go’s ‘legacy’ franchise, as the developer released a crossover slot titled Legacy of Dead some time ago. What it is, however, is the first attempt at a genuine sequel, rather than just borrowing assets or mechanics from Legacy of Egypt. The temples that feature on the reels here look very similar to the pyramids, and the ‘Wheel of the Gods’ is also straight out of their earlier game. There’s no doubling of the number of free spins for hitting more than two scatters in the bonus round this time, sadly, but I guess this is an inevitable consequence of the middle three reels being taken up by wild symbols. I’m getting ahead of myself now, though – let’s check out the paytable first!

And there sure is a lot to discuss about this paytable, too, as the wild symbols offer one of the best payouts I have seen in a recent online slot at 750x the total stake for a full payline! That’s a good deal better than the scatters, too, which only pay 100x the bet when all five symbols appear on the reels. There are three high-paying character symbols, the most valuable red variant of which will also pay 100x your bet for a full payline of five of a kind. There’s a significant drop before you get to the blue and green versions, both of which share identical returns of 15x for a complete payline. Three medium pays represented by a tiger, snake, and toucan have rewards of 12x, 10x, and 10x respectively, whilst the four low-paying royals all share matching payouts of 5x the total bet for all five symbols. Remember that the main bonus round can fill the entirety of reels two through four with wilds, making it much easier to win lots of these combinations simultaneously.

The minimum and maximum betting limits have been set at €0.10 and €100.00, respectively, which will probably be music to the ears of low rollers who were put off Legacy of Egypt by its relatively high minimum bet. So, all in all, with regard to the betting range, there should be something here to suit the needs of all players.

Base Game & Modifiers

Legacy Of Inca Slot Base Game
Legacy of Inca slot base game

There are few surprises in terms of the base game in Legacy of Inca. The machine uses a standard 5×3 playfield, while the 20 fixed paylines are also a very common setup for a video slot. You’ll need three matching symbols on a payline starting from the leftmost reel to score yourself a win, and there are both wild and scatter symbols on all five reels. That’s all there is to say here – all of the fun stuff is tied up in the bonus round, so let’s get straight into that!

Gladiators

There are three gladiator symbols, each of which has its unique re-spin feature. Any single gladiator appearing on the reels will trigger the corresponding feature:

  • Spartacus (Red) – Legion Slash – Adds three to five wilds to the reels.
  • Bellka (Blue) – Full Strike – Adds one or two full-reel wilds to the reels.
  • Emperor Gaius (Yellow) – Adds up to three 2x multiplier wilds to the reels.

Legacy Of Inca Slot Bonus Features

Three or more temple scatter symbols will trigger a set of free spins. The number of spins awarded is decided by the ‘Wheel of the Gods’ rather than the number of triggering symbols, but you do at least receive a larger cash award of up to 100x if the triggering combination includes four or five scatter symbols.

Free Spins

Prior to each bonus round, the Wheel of the Gods is spun to determine the number of free spins awarded. The available choices are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, and 20, and you can also win additional spins by landing two temple scatters whilst the feature is in play.

Before each free spin, the meter above the reel set will randomly choose a number of wilds that will be added to reels two, three, and four for the current spin. So, if you are fortunate, you may even be able to cover the entirety of those three wheels with a solid 3×3 block of wilds!

Each time a re-trigger is awarded, the number of wilds you currently have active will be locked whilst the additional set of spins plays out. So, for example, if you have nine wilds, those nine wilds will become sticky until all Temple Spins have been completed. After this, you will return to the main free spin bonus to play out the rest of your free spins – unless you hit the Temple Spins again!

Legacy Of Inca Slot Review Final Thoughts

I’m still trying to decide whether I prefer the multipliers of Legacy of Egypt or the extra wilds offered in Legacy of Inca – it might take a while to work it out! The last couple of Play’N’Go slots have been a bit of a letdown in my opinion, but this one is a solid update to an already excellent online slot. Don’t miss it.
