We could be going into the vault to steal a safety deposit box full of leprechauns, for all I know! This scatter-pay slot has a bang-on average RTP of 96%, which we can be sure is reasonably accurate as it was calculated via a one billion-round simulation. The maximum payout awarded during that simulation was a reasonably tidy 6,706x the total bet.
The initial reel layout of Leprechaun Heist features five reels of five rows each, but certain features available within the game can expand this up to a maximum size of seven by seven under set conditions. The game also includes a random wilds modifier, a symbol upgrade feature, and a main free spin bonus round that Blue Guru has named ‘The Heist Free Games’. The game does not feature traditional scatter symbols, instead opting to trigger all of its main features as a result of four or more consecutive wins during a single game round. You’ll need just four wins to trigger the random wilds, but a massive 16 wins during one spin if you want to win yourself those all-important free games. If that sounds like too much hard work for your liking, a bonus buy facility is also available at the cost of 75x the normal price per spin.

Leprechaun Heist Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Leprechaun-themed slots have become their own subgenre of Irish Slots in recent times – many of which feel like they are a long way removed from games such as Rainbow Riches Power Pitch. Recent examples in our review library include titles such as Leprechaun’s Vault and Leprechauns Magic Power Reels, but you would really have to spend some time going through the entire Irish Slots category to get a good feel for the genre. In all honesty, though, Leprechaun Heist seems to have little in common with those games – this machine is definitely far more ‘heist’ than it is ‘Leprechaun’. Comparing this game with other Blue Guru slots, this one also looks relatively simple; nevertheless, it’s a fun slot with a bunch of decent features, and the top win of over 6,700x the total bet is slightly better than average as well.
This is a scatter-pay game, meaning that the largest wins are awarded for hitting 25 or more matching symbols anywhere on the playfield. The three ‘leprechaun gangsters’ – now there’s an expression I never thought I would use – are the most valuable of the bunch, paying 30x, 18x, and 15x for the red, blue, and green characters, respectively. The gold bars are worth 10x for a 25-symbol cluster, whilst things take a sharp dive at the jewellery and stacks of cash, which are only worth 3.5x each for the maximum cluster size. Finally, there are three more low-paying symbols which look to be represented by more coloured jewellery, all of which share identical payouts of 3x the total bet when 25 or more symbols appear simultaneously.
The minimum/maximum available betting limits have been set at €0.20 and €100.00 per spin, respectively. The lower end of the range has plenty of different selectable wagers, but those with larger bankrolls may not be impressed by the huge jumps once you get above €2.00 per spin.
Base Game & Modifiers
When you first begin to play Leprechaun Heist, the size of the reel set is limited to 5×5 symbols but will then start to grow larger and smaller randomly with each consecutive spin. The most common playfield size appears to be the median 6×6 arrangement, but you will also get a 7×7 reel set occasionally as well. You’ll need to hit at least eight matching symbols anywhere on the screen to score yourself a win, with higher numbers of symbols paying increasingly larger amounts up to the maximum of 25 symbols per win.
Ammo Level Ups
During each game round, every fourth consecutive win will add an extra modifier into play:
- 4 Wins: Several random wild symbols will be added to the reels in various positions. This is a massive help with scoring a single big win but doesn’t help much beyond this because the wilds are removed when they inevitably create their first winning combination.
- 8 Wins: All of the low-paying symbols that are currently in view will be upgraded to higher-paying symbols of the same colour.
- 12 Wins: Activates the ‘symbol transformer’ feature, which behaves similarly to the previous symbol upgrade feature except that any symbol can be transformed if it helps you create new winning combinations.
- 16 Wins: Make it this far, and you’ll finally experience the main bonus round – The Heist Free Games! We’ll discuss this feature in detail in the next section.
Leprechaun Heist Slot Bonus Features
There are no traditional scatter symbols on the reels of Leprechaun Heist, as the main bonus is instead triggered at the end of the Ammo Level Ups feature discussed previously. You’ll need to hit a massive 16 consecutive wins during a single game round to get there – it isn’t quite as tricky as it sounds, but you also have the option to use the bonus buy facility if it is taking too long for your liking!
Free Spins
The free spins feature plays out similarly to the base game – the size of the reel set still seems to change randomly between each game round, and the same four ammo level-up features are activated each time four consecutive wins are scored during a single spin.
The only differences I could spot are that there are now additional multiplier symbols on the reels – worth up to 5x – and reaching the maximum of 16 consecutive wins during a single spin will now award a five-spin re-trigger.
Bonus Buy
Players from some countries can take advantage of the game’s bonus buy facility. The price of this feature has been set at 75x the normal price per spin and will instantly award a set of eight heist free spins.
Leprechaun Heist Slot Review Final Thoughts
This is a fun little game, although I’m not entirely sure how much the whole ‘leprechaun’ part of the title really applies! I also struggled to make my way to the free spins feature without using the bonus buy facility, as I would frequently reach 12 wins or so before stalling just a few short of the 16 required to win the free spins. All in all, Leprechaun Heist is worth a blast – but it probably isn’t Blue Guru’s best effort.
