That includes the base game and the bonus round, which seems to invoke the modifier much more frequently than during normal play. The Let it Spin modifier will occasionally be enhanced further by a “Bursting Wilds” feature. A “minor elimination” modifier is also available in all game modes. This one has the added benefit of being activated after your winnings have been calculated, resulting in you being paid twice for a single spin. Nice! Throw in a bonus buy facility, and you have the perfect recipe for an exciting Christmas day.

Let It Spin Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
I’ve reviewed countless Christmas-based games over the years that I have been writing about slot machines, but never before have I seen so many new festive games released in a single year. Genuinely, the situation is starting to feel like it might be getting out of hand now – I lost count of how many Christmas games I reviewed this year weeks ago, and we still aren’t even halfway through November! Once we are confident that every developer has thrown their hat into the ring, we’ll publish a little article with our thoughts on which software house has created the most fun, interesting, and financially rewarding Christmas-themed game of the year.
Considering the size of the playfield and the number of paylines utilised by Let it Spin, I was hoping to see some reasonably chunky hits on the paytable. Unfortunately, things didn’t pan out quite as well as I was expecting, as the highest-paying symbol – Santa – is only worth 15x your bet for a full payline of six-of-a-kind. Rudolph is far worse, too, with a return of only 8x the bet for all six symbols, whilst the bell will pay you 7x, and the teddy bear drops to just 6x for a complete payline. If this were a five-reel game, then I probably wouldn’t be hugely surprised by these numbers, but they do seem a little small, considering that you’ll need to land six of them on a line to receive these rewards.
Let it Spin requires you to bet at least a penny per line, meaning the minimum bet is set at €0.30 per spin. There are plenty of steps after this before you reach the larger bets, which keep on running to a maximum wager of €180.00 on each round. I can’t imagine who it is that can afford to spin at such a level, but if you feel the urge to do so, you will be happy to see that Booming Games has given you the option.
Base Game & Modifiers
The playfield used in Let it Spin has six reels, each containing four rows of symbols. There are 30 fixed paylines spanning this vast area, a number which is plenty when we are discussing a regular 5×3 reel set, but those only have 243 possible paths from the left to the right of the screen; this playfield, for comparison, features 4,096 unique paths across the grid.
What does this mean? Many combinations that may look as if they should return a win will actually not be worth anything, as only a very small subset of the total number of paths across the reels are connected for wins. This isn’t a criticism – if the game did use pay ways, the numbers on the paytable would be far smaller than they already are – but it is something worth being aware of when playing a game that features a configuration such as this.
Random Wilds Modifier
This modifier can activate on any base game or bonus spin, adding between one and 24 new wild symbols to the reels before they stop spinning. These wilds can be of both the regular and expanding variety, and the modifier can also work in conjunction with the minor elimination mod detailed below.
Minor Elimination Modifier
This is a really cool modifier because of the way that it is triggered; whilst the random wilds mod is invoked at the start of a spin, this one will do its modifying after your winnings have been paid for a base or bonus game spin instead.
Once your balance has been updated, a snowdrift will blow in from the left of the screen, clearing away all of the low-paying symbols that are currently in view. The remaining symbols will fall to the bottom of the stack, and a fresh bunch of only high-paying symbols will then drop into view from the top. The game will then pay you for a second time – what could be sweeter than that?
Bursting Wilds
Keep an eye on the wild present symbols whenever they land! The regular variety wilds are represented by presents wrapped in red, while the special “bursting” wild symbols are wrapped in yellow paper.
After the reels have stopped spinning, all bursting wilds in view will expand to cover the entire reel where they land. It should be possible to hit a bursting wild on all six of the game’s reels, simultaneously resulting in a maximum win on all 30 paylines.
Let It Spin Slot Free Spins Feature
The main bonus round is a free spin feature that awards between eight and 20 free spins depending on the number of triggering scatters. Eight spins are awarded for a minimum three-scatter trigger, with four extra spins awarded for each additional scatter up to the maximum of six.

During this mode, all of the active features and modifiers in the base game can still be triggered and will do so with much-increased frequency. During my testing of Let it Spin, I found that the random wilds modifier would usually activate at least once or twice during each bonus round, although I did have a single feature which didn’t activate any of the modifiers at all.
I wish Booming Games had added a little more to this bonus round – sure, it has plenty of exciting features, but by the time I organically triggered this feature, I had already seen all of those during the base game.
The free spins feature can be re-triggered, although I never managed this during the time that I was writing this review.
Bonus Buy
For a cost of 70x the normal price per spin, you can bypass the base game and skip straight to the bonus round. This seems like a fair price to me, considering that the free spins are not too different to the base game but do seem to activate the modifiers much more frequently.
Let It Spin Slot Review Final Thoughts
I don’t think that Let it Spin is the best Christmas-themed slot of the year, but it is a fun game that most players will enjoy spinning for a while. I did find it difficult to hit anything particularly exciting during my testing, but with a maximum jackpot of just 2,500x your bet, I suspect that the 150x or so that I did win probably isn’t a particularly bad result for around 90 minutes of play.
