Game Overview

BetGames is an award-winning live game supplier that’s primarily earned its name from producing high-quality lottery and poker-style games. So, I’m excited to see how well the popular developer has transitioned into creating some of the more common table games. In this instance, BetGames Live Roulette falls under my microscope. Does it offer enough to compete with some of the roulette games provided by more prominent providers in the live casino space? Let’s take a look.

First, let’s clarify which variation of roulette BetGames has chosen. In my opinion, the developer made the right choice by choosing European Roulette. As many of you will know, American Roulette has a lower RTP due to an additional pocket – a Double Green ‘00’ zero to go along with the regular Single Green ‘0’ zero. It’s also worth mentioning this is just the straightforward game of roulette you’ll find at regular tables online and at land-based casinos. There are no add-ons, bonus games, or random multipliers here – just good old European Roulette as originally intended.

So, fancy a bit of traditional casino gaming action delivered via a high-definition live stream featuring fully trained croupiers in a well-designed studio? Then, check out this game for free via the Live Roulette demo below.

As you know, we primarily review slot games but also like to dip our toes into other online casino games when we get a chance. Roulette is one of the classic casino table games, which many of the team, including myself, like to enjoy from time to time. We’ve provided reviews of RNG versions of this game, such as Inspired Gamings 20p Roulette and 10p Roulette from Gamevy, and even offered a handy roulette tips guide for any of you looking to get into this classic game for the first time. As for other live variations, I recommend you check out SA Gaming’s Live Roulette.

The BetGames version is the same variation offered by SA Gaming, so you’re essentially playing the same game here, just in a different studio. You can access the same bets on that title and all standard live European Roulette tables. That means the inside bets on the various individual and groups of numbers and the outside bets that offer a better chance to win but also lower payouts when you do.

The inside bets and their payouts are as follows:

  • Straight Up: 35:1
  • Split bet: 17:1
  • Street Bet: 11:1
  • Corner/Basket: 8:1
  • Line Bet: 5:1
  • Dozen/Column Bets: 2:1

As for the 50/50 bets below the numbers, these all pay:

  • Red/Black: 1:1
  • Even/Odd: 1:1
  • Low/High (1-18/19-36): 1:1

As for the stakes on BetGames’ Live Roulette, you can place between 1.00 and 100.00 on most betting options. However, the maximum allowed on straight-up bets is 55.56, which is an odd number, but there you go.

How to Play BetGames Live Roulette

The action on Live Roulette takes place in a pleasantly decorated studio, with plants sitting on either side of the live croupier. The betting interface is at the bottom of the screen, just above a history bar showing the number landed across the last 42 rounds.

You have around 13 seconds to place your bets between each round. You do this by selecting a chip value of 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, or 100 and placing it on the bets on the interface. You can press a ‘Double’ button to double up the current bet, and there’s a racetrack to the right that displays the numbers as they appear on the roulette wheel. There, you can place neighbour bets, which are single numbers and a choice of between 0 and 9 numbers, on either side of it.

Once the timer reaches zero, the croupier does their stuff by spinning the roulette ball into the spinning roulette wheel. Bets are paid once the ball rests in the winning pocket and a new round starts.

In the settings, you can select an ideal stream resolution of 270p, 360p, 540p, or 1080p to suit your device and current internet connection, or just leave it on auto so that it adjusts depending on your current bandwidth. You’ll also find a handy history feature that shows you hot and cold numbers, how often certain bets have won, and the results of the last 500 rounds.

Pros

  • A well-produced live roulette game streamed in high definition.
  • One of very few live roulette demos you can play.

Cons

  • I wish you could choose the camera angle you prefer to use.

BetGames Live Roulette Final Thoughts

There’s nothing different from this European Roulette game from any other you’ll find from competitors - it’s the same game using standard rules. However, in terms of the quality of the stream, studio, and how easy it is to use the betting interface, BetGames Live Roulette is at least on par with what you’ll find elsewhere. There are no complaints from me, and in fact, I think it’s about time I enjoyed another roulette session - so I think the BetGames version will be the one of choice.
