Any roulette fan will tell you that the next best thing from perching up a roulette table at a land-based casino is to enjoy the game live at online casinos. That’s not to say there aren’t some decent virtual roulette games around; we’ve even reviewed a few here, just that for as close to authentic brick-and-mortar casino experience as you can get, live versions of this game do a better job.
There is a professionally trained live croupier spinning the wheel, high-definition camera angles, and, more importantly, no RNG (on regular tables, at least). Results are determined by the laws of physics rather than an algorithm.
If all of that appeals to you, you’ll probably enjoy this latest review, as it is of SA Gaming’s Live Roulette. This title features the standard (European Roulette) RTP of 97.30% and a top single bet payout of 35:1 rewarded from winning straight-up bets.

As mentioned, this is a live variation of the European rules roulette game, which means a single green zero instead of the two found on American Roulette tables. If you’re wondering why that is important, that additional green 00 doubles the house edge on American Roulette, meaning an RTP of just 94.74%.
Any experienced roulette player knows to avoid American tables for that reason—and fortunately, this version sticks to the safer gameplay of European tables. Live Roulette gives you all the regular betting options, including inside and outside bets.
How to Play Live Roulette
A round/coup of roulette begins at the conclusion of another. You’re given 40 seconds to place your bets before the dealer spins the roulette wheel and declares all bets at this point are off.
After a few seconds, the croupier spins the ball into the roulette wheel in the opposite direction of the wheel. Eventually, both stop to reveal the pocket the ball has landed in. Bets are paid, and a new round begins.
In terms of features and interface, the live stream sits above the different betting options at your disposal. You can click or drag the 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 vale chips and place them in your desired betting sections.
To the right of the live feed is the round history, which some of you might use to determine when a number/bet is due to come up. You’ll also see the current information for the table you’re playing at.
Pros
- An easy-to-use and navigate betting interface.
- Streams, for me at least, were high definition and delivered without interruptions.
Cons
- There are no multipliers or bonus rounds - which might put off fans of more modern gameshow-style roulette games.
Live Roulette Review Final Thoughts
Regarding standard versions of casino games delivered in a live format, there’s not usually too much difference between what most suppliers offer. The games and the rules are generally the same, after all.
However, there are other reasons to choose one over another, such as the ease of use of the betting interface, the quality of the live stream, and features such as hand/round histories. SA Gaming offers all the above in its Live Roulette casino games, so it's a title I’d certainly recommend.
