I am reliably informed that Pocket Games Soft, or PG Soft for short, is one of Asia and Turkey’s most popular slot developers. I have to admit to being somewhat sceptical upon hearing this – the other games I have played by this developer in the past weren’t bad, but they certainly were not anything special either. Lucky Piggy doesn’t sound like the most original game either, but my first impressions of the game upon loading were good – this game looks great, especially on the smaller screens it was designed for. The game uses an unusual reel layout with 2,304 payways and has a higher than average 96.79% RTP along with a maximum win of 20,000x bet.
Lucky Piggy includes an ascending multiplier feature, similar to what you might find in the bonus round of many early Megaways slots. The difference here is that the multiplier applies to the base game and will increase after every winning combination. The multiplier is reset between paid spins during the base game but persists between spins during the bonus round. The bonus round is a free spins feature triggered by hitting four scatter symbols and includes sticky wild symbols and the aforementioned ascending multiplier feature.

Lucky Piggy Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
I guess the obsession with pig-themed online slots must come from the term “piggy bank”? If you look at a handful of similar games on our site, that certainly looks to be the case. There does seem to be something of a flood of these games at the moment, however, which seems a tad strange! For example, we have reviewed Peaky Pigs, The Great Pigsby Megaways, and Banking Bacon just within recent weeks. I’m not sure if Disney has a new pig-themed movie out or if it’s just a coincidence that so many developers are creating pig-themed games all at once. Who knows, perhaps it will be the Cow’s turn next month?!
To simplify the payouts of Lucky Piggy, PG Soft has opted to label each spin as costing 20 coins. This makes it much simpler to calculate your winnings by looking at the paytable, but I can’t help but wonder why they did not just make the paytable update to take account of the current bet size. It’s possible that PG Soft was trying to obfuscate the seemingly poor numbers on the table – for example, the highest-paying regular symbol is the diamond with a return of 50 coins, or 2.5x the current bet, in other words. The roll of money is next with a payout of just 1.5x your bet for each completed pay way of six-of-a-kind, followed by the stack of coins at 1x and the bell at 0.75x. There are four “medium-paying” symbols, represented by typical slot symbols such as bells and fruits, and another four low-paying royal symbols as well. These numbers would not seem so bad if the symbols were stacked on the reels, as in so many other pay way-based games, but that is not the case here. Instead, the low numbers on the paytable result from that ascending multiplier feature we mentioned earlier. Still, you’ll need to trigger the bonus round to take full advantage of its profitability.
Choosing your bet is a little over-complicated in Lucky Piggy; clicking on your current bet brings up three dropdown selectors allowing you to select a bet size and bet level, with three-coin sizes available for the former and ten levels offered for the latter. This setup creates an overall betting range of between €0.20 and €100.00 per spin, although I would not recommend wagering that high on a game such as this.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game looks interesting from the moment you first load up Lucky Piggy due to the unusual reel layout. The first two reels feature three rows, whilst the next four have four rows, resulting in the unusual number of payways at 2,304. Apart from this, however, the base game works much like any other online slot – any three matching symbols starting from the left on adjacent reels will award a win, and any winning combinations are immediately removed from the reels, allowing more symbols to drop into place from the top of the screen.
Ascending Multiplier
At the beginning of each base game spin, the current multiplier will be reset to 1x. Each time you land a winning combination on the reels, the current multiplier will increase by one during the time between symbols being removed and new ones falling into place. The current multiplier will continue to increase after each winning combination, only resetting at the start of the next paid spin.
Scatter Wild Symbols
The wild and scatter symbols are both the same in Lucky Piggy, which is a nice feature, even though these symbols have no value on the paytable of their own. The scatter/wild symbol will remain on the grid in between symbol removals, potentially allowing you to catch the additional symbols required from subsequent cascades to trigger the bonus round.

Scatter/wild symbols appear on the last four reels only, and you will need to hit all four of these simultaneously to trigger yourself an eight free spin bonus round.
Free Spins
At the beginning of the feature, the current multiplier will be reset to 1x. This will climb in the same way as the base game during each spin. However, the multiplier is not reset between each free spin, potentially allowing you to reach much higher multipliers in this mode.
The scatter/wild symbols which trigger the free spins feature will remain sticky in the positions where they landed on the triggering spin for the duration of the bonus round. Hitting additional scatter/wild symbols whilst the feature is in play will add an extra free spin to your remaining total and be locked in place for the remaining duration of the feature.
Lucky Piggy Slot Review Final Thoughts
This game was much better than I initially expected, but it felt very difficult to trigger the free spins feature, and the few times I did manage to get there, my winnings felt underwhelming, especially considering the difficulty of hitting the feature in the first place. Nevertheless, I did find this to be a fun and enjoyable game and believe that most slot fans would enjoy at least a couple of sessions on this one.
