Game Overview
We don’t see many online slots with an overly futuristic theme, so Kalamba’s new Machina Reloaded Megaways feels as fresh as it looks. The developer has taken the traditional Megaways setup licensed by Big Time Gaming and added their own twists to the formula; this isn’t just another clone of previous Megaways games. The maximum number of Megaways is still 117,649, whilst ten or more Cyborg symbols are required to win one of the Cashpot jackpot prizes. The RTP ranges between 96.20% and 96.70% depending on the HyperBet and HyperBonus configuration, and whilst the maximum win is not stated in the games help files, I would assume that the Platinum Cashpot prize of 15,000x your bet is fairly close to the limit!
There’s a lot of game-specific terminology in that opening paragraph, so if you like to understand a machine before beginning to play, you may want to spend some time reading the paytable and rules pages before spinning the reels. Some terminology, such as “HyperBonus”, is just Kalamba’s way of referring to the bonus buy feature, whilst other terms require a bit more research. Aside from the Cashpot prizes, the biggest wins can be found in the free spins feature, where symbol transformations can boost the value of winning combinations landing on the reels.

Machina Reloaded Megaways Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Kalamba has opted for the pinks and purples style of almost retro-futurism in their Machina Reloaded Megaways online slot. It looks great; I especially like the animated backdrop with its futuristic vehicles zipping by. Not all of the symbols on the reels feel particularly futuristic, however, perhaps this is just a difference of opinion on my part, but a couple of the picture symbols could just as easily be from the 19th century as the 22nd! If you are a fan of games such as Cyberpunk 2077, then the look of Machina Reloaded is likely to appeal to you as well.
The highest paying symbol on the paytable is the cyborg with a return of 4x your bet for each completed pay way – this doesn’t sound like much, but with 117,649 possible payways, that leaves plenty of room to win on lots of ways simultaneously. The cyborg symbol is also used for the Cashpot prizes, starting with 10 cyborgs for the Bronze, 12 for the Silver, 16 for the Gold, or 19 for the Platinum prize of a monstrous 15,000x your bet. The remaining character symbols all have payouts of 3x your bet for a full pay way of six-of-a-kind, whilst six royal symbols make up the lower-paying half of the table. The bonus symbol has a return of 30x your bet for six scatters, 20x for five, 10x for four, or 4x for the minimum of three. You’ll also receive between 10 and 18 free spins for hitting these symbols.
There are two sets of wagers available depending on if you choose to have the HyperBet feature enabled or not. Without HyperBet, the maximum number of payways is reduced, but you can choose to bet €0.25 per spin rather than €0.50 as the minimum with the feature enabled. The maximum bet without HyperBet is €37.50, or €50.00 with the feature enabled.
Base Game & Modifiers
If you haven’t played a Megaways slot before, where have you been?! These games have been taking the online casino industry by storm for years, so it’s perhaps unsurprising that developers such as Kalamba stick mainly to the established and popular Megaways template rather than building new games from the ground up. That template means you have a 6×6 regular playfield, plus an additional horizontal row across the top of the reels. Each of the six reels can divide into between two and six sections at the beginning of each spin, resulting in a maximum grid size of 7×7.
Hyperbet Mode
This is a bonus bet that doubles the amount paid per round whilst also increasing the maximum number of payways. I don’t always like bonus bets, but in this case, I would recommend playing with the feature enabled so that all 117,649 pay ways are available for winning combinations.
Machina Reloaded Megaways Slot Bonus Features
All of the real action in Machina Reloaded Megaways comes in the form of bonus rounds – that’s not to say that the base game isn’t fun, but if you want to win the biggest prizes, you’ll need to keep your fingers crossed for these features:
Free Spins Feature
The bonus symbols look like a microchip or integrated circuit and can appear as single, double, or triple height symbols. Hitting six of these will award 18 free spins, whilst five awards 15 spins, four 12 spins, and three awards 10 free spins.
You can transform the regular picture symbols into cyborgs during the free spins feature by collecting additional bonus symbols. This will fill the meter at the top of the screen and add two spins to your remaining counter each time you reach one of the predefined transformation points.
If you can manage to collect the maximum of 20 additional bonus symbols, all picture symbols will be transformed into Cyborgs, giving you the best possible chance of hitting the Platinum Cashpot.
Cashpot Feature
Not quite a progressive jackpot feature, but the prizes are big enough that you might not care if you win one! The Platinum Cashpot, for example, pays a whopping 15,000x your bet when triggered by hitting 19 Cyborg symbols during either the base game or the free spins feature. That sounds like a big ask, but with up to 49 possible positions it certainly feels like a possibility!
The Gold Cashpot is paid for hitting 16 Cyborg symbols in a single spin and is worth 300x your current stake, whilst the Silver awards 12.5x for 12 Cyborgs and the Bronze pays 5x for 10 symbols
Hyperbonus Feature
If you don’t feel like waiting for the free spins to drop of their own accord, you may be able to take advantage of this bonus buy feature to skip straight to the best part of the game.
There are four options, starting with 18 free spins for an eye-watering 933x the current bet, 15 free spins for 480x, 12 for 211x, or 10 for 113x. The price of the biggest option really is staggering, and you’ll have to decide how much risk you are comfortable with taking for the chance of hitting that huge Platinum Cashpot.
Personally, I don’t think I have the stomach for such huge bonus buy prices, but I’m sure there will be players out there who will relish the risk-to-reward that this feature offers!
Machina Reloaded Megaways Slot Review Final Thoughts
Sure, it’s another Megaways slot, but Kalamba has made enough tweaks to their original version of this game that Machina Reloaded still feels like an interesting and fresh experience.
