It’s a little like Go, really – a hugely popular chess-like game that is hugely popular in parts of Asia, and yet nobody west of Russia has the faintest idea what it is… well, almost. Anyway, today’s review is Mahjong Legend which features 1,024 payways an RTP of 96% and a maximum win of 1,500x bet.
Let’s be honest here – a lot of these Mahjong games look incredibly alike –and the same could be said for the feature set in most of them, but let’s have a quick run through. First of all, we have cascading reels, which are activated when a winning combo of symbols forms on the reels. Each cascade brings an additional chance to win and moves you one position along the win multiplier at the top of the reels. Next are the Gold Framed symbols, which will transform into wilds when they form part of a winning combination. Finally, the free spins feature is triggered when three or more scatters land in view. During this round, you get to choose the volatility of your bonus, where big win multipliers can come into play.

Mahjong Legend Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
I’ve quite liked some of the “Western Style” Mahjong games recently – but that’s probably only because they play traditional slots using simple Mahjong title geographics! One such example would have to be Mahjong Panda by PG Soft themselves.. who could argue with that? They did get a decent score in our review, after all! Whatever the arrangement between AskMeBet and PG Soft happens to be, keep it up, guys! It seems to be working well for you.
Let’s move on to the paytable, which, thankfully, is nowhere near as confusing as that included in other Mahjong-themed slots! There’s a regular paytable comprised of eight Mahjong tiles – these have payouts of 40x, 32x, 24x, and 14x the current stake for a full five of a kind. The rather less impressing-looking tiles – trust me, you’ll know when you see them – have values ranging between 10x, all the way down to 5x for the lowest paying green oil drums.
Base Game & Modifiers
Moving on to the base gameplay, this machine plays far more like a regular slot than some other Mahjong-inspired games we have looked at here at Demoslot. There are four rows of four tiles each and eight unique symbols to fill them. As ever, you’ll need three matching symbols starting from the left side of the playfield to score yourself a win.
Golden Framed Symbols
During any spin, random symbols (excluding Wild symbols and scatters) in reels 2,3 and 4 may appear in gold. At the start of each new round, after new symbols have fallen into place to replace the ones who won during the previous cascade, any winning combinations that form in golden-framed positions will transform into additional wild symbols.
Multipliers
Mahjong Legend has seven multiplier levels – your initial symbol drop has just 1x as its multiplier, but subsequent wins will be boosted by 2x, 4x, and even 7x multiplication factors.
Mahjong Legend Slot Bonus Features
The main bonus round is triggered when three scatter symbols appear anywhere on the playfield during a single game round. Three scatters grant twelve spins – if any further scatter symbols are visible, you’ll be given two extra spins for each additional scatter.
Free Spins
Once the free spins are activated, you will be given a chance to choose the volatility level of your bonus round. A basic three scatter trigger will provide you with the following options.

- The Mahjong theme just isn’t likely to fly in the West – it never has before; why would it now?
- Bonus round adds nothing to the base game formula.
Final Thoughts
Well, it’s definitely one of the better Mahjong slots out there, but does that mean much? If you like the original game, you’ll like this. If not, well, I’d give it a miss.
