As for today’s game, we’re taking a look at Pragmatic Play’s Mahjong Wins slot, a 5 reel slot with 1,024 paylines, an RTP of 96.48% and a maximum win of 5,000x bet.
Feature-wise, we’ve got a wild symbol that doesn’t seem to like to show up regularly in the base game, but it’s much more likely to appear during the bonus round. Aside from the insane speed at which the game can be played, we also have tumbling symbols, gold symbols, and tumble multipliers – if these land in the right way, you could see yourself hitting a jackpot prize! If you win several times in a row, every win after the second symbol drop will have an increased prize value.

Mahjong Wins Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The Mahjong Ways series of online slots was always a massive disappointment in my eyes – they looked great, but the gameplay was bizarre, and you never really know if you had hit something big because it seems quite hard to work out what was actually going on. There have been a couple of good ones – Pragmatic Play released Mahong Panda a while back, which this game could even be a sequel of!
Ah, this paytable is a nightmare for me as I have no idea what the kanji attached to each of the eight tablet symbols means! The most valuable symbol is the red spinning top, with a payout of 8x the total bet for a full payline of five of a kind. There’s a green bush at 4x, a blue square at 3x, a sort of dancing house at 2x, and then we are on to the low pays. I like the low values as they are easy to describe – there are four of these symbols – the tablet with five circles will pay you 1x for a five-symbol combination, as will the tablet that shows four dots. The five lines and two lines are the lowest value symbols, both of which pay 0.5x for a full payline.
The betting range offered in this one is a little smaller than a typical Pragmatic Play release – there is a minimum bet of €0.20 and a maximum limit of €24.00 per round. Whilst a handful of players probably enjoy spinning at over €24.00 a spin, I certainly am not one of them.
Mahjong Wins Slot Base Game
The basic gameplay in the Mahjong Wins slot will likely be something you have never experienced before! The Mahjong Win playfield has five reels of four rows each, and you’ll probably also spot the multipliers displayed across the top of the reels too. As with pretty much every game, you’ll need to amass three matching symbols to achieve a win.
Tumble Feature & Multipliers
During all parts of Mahjong Wins, winning combinations will be paid immediately before the symbols that comprise the win are removed from the playfield. If there are new winning combinations, you will be paid again, except this time, there are multipliers of 2x,4x,6x, and 10x. If you reach the ten 10x multiplier, all combinations that occur while it is active will be boosted by a factor of ten, but the multiplier will reset to 2x if there are no more winning combinations,
Gold Symbols
This is a modifier that can occur on any game round. Regular paying symbols marked in gold can appear on reels two, three, and four, and if they are involved in a winning combination, their positions are guaranteed to hold wilds on the next spin.
Mahjong Wins Slot Bonus Features
The main bonus round in Pragmatic’s Mahjong Wins slot is the free spins feature, and you’ll need to hit at least three scatter symbols to trigger this mode. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see any benefit to hitting a four or five-scatter combination.
Free Spins Feature
This part of the game is very much the same as the base game, to be honest – the only real difference Is that you do seem to win more regularly, and the multipliers from the base game are all doubled when playing here. It’s a simple bonus round, but I have to say, I won a lot more from the two features I played than I did during the base game!

Final Thoughts
Not really much to say about this one folks. There are far better Mahjong slots out there, and I'd suggest taking a look at Mahjong Ways 3+ rather than playing this one.
