Find the Lady is the title of a rather dodgy film that was remade in 1956 and later in 1976 – neither version improved much on the original 1936 version in terms of story, as least as far as critical reviews are concerned. I suspect that Mega Bars: Find the Lady Fortune Play has nothing to do with any of them though, and Blueprint Gaming has instead named this slot after the equally dodgy scam known as Find the Lady – AKA Three Card Monte or the Three Card Trick, Whatever you want to call it, it’s a game that you can never win, making it a strange choice for a slot machine name in my view! I could live with the name if that were the only issue with this game, but its shockingly low RTP of 92.82% is a far bigger problem that would stop me from ever playing this machine for real money. There are ten pay lines and a 1000x stake jackpot if you’re still interested in giving the game a try.
Find the Lady is a Bar-X style slot, meaning that you’ll only find two regular symbols on its five sets of reels. There are also non-winning nought symbols and free spin-triggering scatters – the former is extremely undesirable, of course, whilst the latter show up so infrequently that you could be forgiven for thinking the developer forgot to include them! The ‘Fortune Play’ mode costs a lot more to play and works a little differently from the normal game – I’m not sure which is the better of the two, if I’m honest, but the jackpot is lowered to just 500x if you do opt to play the game in Fortune Play mode. The RTP does increase slightly too, but only to 93% – hardly enough to make a difference really.

Mega Bars Find The Lady Fortune Play Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
I honestly thought that the bad old days of Bar-X style games were behind us – newer variants of the format such as Bar-X Megaways and Bar-X Safecracker Megaways both prove that Bar-X games can be both fun and innovative, but Blueprint seems to have stripped away as much of what makes modern slots fun as possible in this release. There are some positives – it looks pretty nice, and it’s relatively easy to hit a win of some size despite it only being a ten-line game. Let’s be honest here though – I’m reaching, aren’t I?
Well, this is going to be a short section! The bar symbol is the game’s higher paying item, with a maximum return of 50x the total bet for a complete payline of five of a kind. The X symbol is worth much less – only 5x the total bet for all five symbols. And that’s your lot, I’m afraid! There’s no payout for the scatters, and the only other way to win anything is to ‘find the lady’ after hitting a win, which will double you up. You don’t lose your win if you fail to pick the right card either, which is a nice touch.
Blueprint has kept the betting range pretty small for this release, with minimum/maximum permitted wagers of €0.10 and €5.00 per spin, respectively. There are plenty of other bets allowed between the two limits as well, so there are no problems in this regard.
Base Game & Modifiers
The regular gameplay of Mega Bars: Find the Lady couldn’t be much simpler – the design of the machine is intended to mirror that of an old mechanical game, so some suitable sound effects are played every time you spin the reels. Unfortunately, I soon got tired of those and ended up muting the game. That aside, the machine uses a standard 5×3 reel set, spanned by 10 fixed paylines laid out in a very unusual manner – check the diagrams before you begin to play if you care about this sort of thing.
Fortune Play Mode
Activating the fortune play mode will increase the cost of every spin by 10x – a huge boost, but in return, you’ll get special double symbols on reel three, which can double the value of any paylines that pass through them. You’ll also be offered up to 10 chances to find the lady after a win, potentially allowing you to reach the game’s top prize of 1,000x the total bet.

To be clear, when I said earlier that the free spin symbols were rare, I didn’t mean that they don’t appear on the screen – just that they never seem to line up correctly. These aren’t standard scatters – you need to hit at least three on a pay line starting from the left to receive free spins.
Free Spins
There’s no advantage to being in this mode either – three ‘free spin’ symbols will give you three free spins, whilst four or five symbols increase this to four or five spins, respectively. The total of your winnings from all free spins is what you get the chance to double in the find the lady round at the end, which I guess is an advantage of sorts… not enough to interest me though, I’m afraid!

Final Thoughts
Well, Blueprint was a little bit shocking, wasn’t it? I’m not sure where things went south with the development of this machine, but the terrible jackpot and RTP figures are simply unforgivable in my eyes. Check it out yourself if you like, but I wouldn’t recommend doing so with real money – your bankroll will be gone in the blink of an eye at this RTP.
