Mermaid Treasure (Eurasian Gaming) Slot Demo & Review

It’s funny how slot themes come in and out of fashion. It has been quite some time since I’ve reviewed a slot based upon Mermaids, but I remember it was a hot topic before with slot fanatics, especially with releases such as PG Soft’s Mermaid Riches and Gong Gaming’s Neptune’s Harem, in particular, enjoying plenty of success. Eurasian Gaming has certainly broken the silence once again in this previously popular slot genre, so perhaps they’re starting to trend again. 

For the next part of this review of Mermaid Treasure, we’ll check out what the paytable offers. The Scatter symbol sits at the top of the pay charts with a 50x the stake return for five anywhere in view, followed by the Mermaid Treasure, which pays 20x for a line of five. The Fish tops out at 16x, the Wild symbol returns 10x, whilst the Seaweed and Starfish both reward up to 8x, and the Shell and Flora are worth up to 4x.  The Ace and King are the best of the low payers, both sharing a 2x max return, while the Queen and Jack are worth up to 0.8x. 

Before spinning the reels of Mermaid Treasure, you will, of course, need to choose a stake relative to your bankroll. You have options ranging from as low as €0.25 per spin, reaching up to a maximum of €100.00. 

To land wins across the 5×3 reel configuration with 25 fixed paylines, you need to land three or more matching symbols starting from the leftmost reel that line up across a payline. Aside from attempting to hit winning combinations, there’s not much else in the base game. There are wild symbols; however, that will help create those combinations by substituting regular symbols.

Gamble

There is a Gamble Feature, but you must turn it on in the settings. Once activated, you can gamble your winnings whenever a winning combination strikes. It is a 50/50 game where you must guess whether the next card is red or black. If you guess correctly, you double your winnings, but get it wrong and you lose everything. 

There’s just one main bonus round that can be triggered in Mermaid Treasure, and for it to be activated, you will need to land three or more scatters in view, which will award you 10 free spins.

Free Spins Feature

Before the free spins begin, the Shell Bonus takes place. You must pick one of two shells, and if they reveal a pearl, the win multiplier for the bonus increases by 1x. It’s possible to increase that value to a maximum of 7x, but one wrong guess will end the Shell Bonus.  Once that bonus is finished, the free spins will play out.

Eurasian Gaming offers a direct route in the free spins feature on Mermaid Treasure via the bonus buy option. This can be activated for a low cost of 31x the current bet.
