Mighty Munching Melons uses a five-reel grid, with three row positions on each and 10 fixed paylines. All winning combinations are formed by matching at least three corresponding symbols from left to right, commencing on the leftmost reel across any of these lines. Strangely, the exception to this is that Jack will pay for just two symbols.

Flicking on the anti-bet button will increase the cost of each spin by 50% of the base stake value, giving you a better chance of a bonus landing in return.
Mighty Munching Melons Slot Bonus Features
The munching melon serves as the scatter symbol and can appear on any reel. Landing three or more on the grid during any single spin will trigger the bonus feature. The reels will then be emptied of all paytable symbols, leaving a blank grid and a display of three heart symbols at the top of the screen representing the remaining lives.
Bonus Feature
As the bonus begins, each spin will deduct a life, which can be reset back to three by landing a money symbol. Only money, melon ghosts, and melon symbols appear during this bonus, and they perform the following functions:
Money Symbol
All money symbols that land on the grid will stick in place until they are collected or the bonus game ends. Each one that lands will reset the heart life meter back to three. They appear in stake multiplier values of 0.1x, 0.25x, 0.5x, 1x, 2.5x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, or 500x.
Melon Ghost Symbol
When the melon ghost symbol lands on the grid, it will remain in play for the duration of the bonus, moving to a random position on each spin. If a melon symbol crosses its path, it will grow to either a 2×2 or 3×3 size at random, enabling it to potentially collect more money symbols.
Melon Symbol
Melon symbols are active only during the spin that they land in. If one lands, it will move in a random direction, either vertically up or down a reel or horizontally across a line of rows, leaving the screen once it reaches the edge and returning on the other side, finally coming to a stop in the grid position it initially landed in. Whilst performing this movement, it will collect the value of any money symbols in its path and remove those symbols from the reels.
The first melon will have a multiplier value of x1, and every additional melon that lands after that will have a higher multiplier, which increases in increments of +1 compared to the last one. This multiplier will be applied to the value of any money symbol that it collects. The melon symbol may also randomly move in a zig-zag pattern across the reels, collecting all money symbols or awarding an additional life heart, taking the total to four instead of the usual three.
When no more spins are left or the screen has been filled with money symbols, a 3×3 melon symbol with no multiplier value will enter the screen and collect any money symbols. If the screen is full, the lives will be reset, and the feature will continue, effectively a re-trigger; if not, the bonus will end.
Bonus Buy
Players who like to play bonus buy feature slots and wish to purchase the bonus directly on Mighty Munching Melons can do so via the feature buy option. This will cost 100x the current stake value, and the RTP, whilst utilising this feature, along with the ante-bet option, remains the same as standard base gameplay at 96.05%.

I wasn’t hugely blown away by this game, if I’m honest. I found the base game quite dry, and it lacks features. However, the power of the higher value paytable symbols is impressive, especially the orange symbol, which is worth a massive 1,000x per line, so I guess lining up five of those in a row would have made things a tad more exciting. It does make me wonder why the maximum win is capped at just 3,000x, though, considering it could, in theory, be possible to get a full screen of oranges, which would be worth 10,000x. I’ve seen enough coin collection-style bonuses in recent times to make me sigh when I discovered that was what had been used as the bonus option here. However, they have at least given it a twist and added the munching multiplier melon, which freshens things up somewhat. Not a terrible game, but fairly run-of-the-mill, in my opinion.
