Money Train 2 Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The first Money Train online slot had something of a Wild West theme to it, but Relax has gone in a different direction for this sequel by implementing a dystopian steampunk aesthetic, giving the game a much more futuristic feel. I love this new look, and I feel that it will be extremely popular with other players, too – so much so that I’m predicting that Relax will stick with it when they eventually get around to releasing Money Train 3 or, dare I even say, Money Train 4!
The paytable should be familiar to players of the original Money Train slot, as all of the line hits match those offered in the first game. Nevertheless, we’ll give a quick breakdown to refresh your memory! The red character tops the table with a return of 20x your bet for a full payline of five of a kind, followed by the yellow punk at 10x for all five of his symbols. The green outlaw is next at 9x the bet, whilst the blue female has a return of 8x for a complete pay line. The low-paying symbols are represented by the four playing card suits and range between 3x for a line of diamonds up to 5x for the hearts.
This has to be one of the most volatile slots you will come across, so it’s nice to see that Relax has included a low minimum wager of just €0.20 per spin. The slot permits bets up to €20, but this could vary from each casino you play at, as the operators are likely to be slightly scared of the maximum win hitting at a higher stake and literally breaking the bank.
Base Game & Modifiers
Just as with the paytable, the base configuration of Money Train 2 will be instantly familiar to those with experience of the original slot. The game has five reels of four rows each and will award wins for three or more matching symbols that land on one of its 40 paylines starting from the left.
Respin Feature
Hitting two bonus symbols will trigger the re-spin feature, which is a nice consolation prize when you fail to catch that all-important third scatter!
After activation, your triggering bonus symbols will each reveal a multiplier. The two values are added together to determine the overall multiplier for the bonus, after which the game will begin a series of re-spins.
For every non-winning spin, your overall multiplier will increase by 1x. The feature will end once you hit a winning combination, and the overall multiplier will be applied to your winnings.
Money Train 2 Slot Bonus Features
Three or more bonus symbols will activate the main Money Cart bonus round. The triggering bonus symbols will transform into a prize, displayed as a multiple of the current bet before the feature starts.
Money Cart Feature
The Money Cart Feature is a three-spin bonus round similar to those you may have played in other online slots, only with a great deal more big-win potential! You begin the feature with three lives on your remaining counter and will lose a life each time the reels spin without landing a new symbol. If a symbol does land, your life meter is reset back to the initial three.
Every symbol that lands during the Money Cart Feature will become sticky and remain in place for the remainder of the bonus round. If a reel becomes filled by symbols, a new reel will be opened to provide additional space. This can happen a maximum of two times during each bonus round. If you fill all available reels with symbols, the bonus round will finish early with a consolation prize of 500x added to your total winnings.
The regular symbols featured in the base game are replaced with a new set during the bonus round, as follows:
- Bonus: Awards a prize of between 1x and 10x the current bet. This is the symbol type that your triggering symbols will transform into.
- Golden Bonus: Awards a prize of between 20x and 200x the current bet.
- Payer: Awards a random prize, then adds that amount to all other visible symbols.
- Collector: Awards a random prize, then collects the value of all other visible symbols before adding them to its own value.
- Collector/Payer: Awards a random prize, then collects the value of all other visible symbols, adds them to its own value, then re-distributes its own value on top of all the previously collected prizes. Valuable!
- Sniper: Awards a random prize, then doubles the values of up to eight other symbols. The Sniper can also act on the same symbol multiple times, potentially resulting in a multiplier of 4x, 8x, or higher!
- Necromancer: Awards a random prize, then re-activates between two and seven previously revealed symbols such as payers, collectors, or snipers.
- Reset Plus: Increases your default lives count by +1
Bonus Buy
The Money Cart bonus is undoubtedly the most exciting part of Money Train 2, so I’m happy to report that Relax has included a bonus buy facility for those who live in a country or region where these features are permitted.
The cost to purchase a bonus round is 100x the normal price per spin, which is an absolute bargain in my view. While testing this game, I rarely encountered a bonus round where I finished up with less than half of my buy-in. I also made a substantial profit on several occasions, too!
Note that the RTP of 98% when using this option is significantly higher than the default base game RTP of 96.40%, making it an even more attractive proposition.
Pros
- An improvement on an already outstanding online slot.
- Huge max win of 50,000x bet.
- Massive 98% RTP when the bonus buy is active.
Cons
- Perhaps a tad unfair on those who can't buy the bonus, but that's not really Relax Gaming's fault.
Final Thoughts
This is very much an evolution of the first Money Train game rather than a revolution – but what else would you expect? The presentation has taken the most significant boost, whilst the tweaks made to the Money Cart bonus round are all excellent as well, but the biggest plus for me has to be the huge maximum win of 50,000x your bet! Money Train 2 is undoubtedly one of the best online slots we’ve seen in a long time – don’t miss it.
