We all have our unique tastes when it comes to music, and over the years, there have been genres that have gained an unprecedented following, with millions of fans worldwide going crazy to see their favourite stars. During the 80s and 90s, it was the turn of Heavy Metal to have millions of teens banging their heads to loud guitars and screaming vocals. Today’s review of the Motley Crue slot from provider Play’n Go is the next in the series of the providers’ band themed video slots, so get ready for 20 fixed paylines, an RTP of 96%, and a maximum win of 5,000x bet.

Play’n Go sure knows how to stack a game with features, and you’ll have much to keep you entertained here. Appearing in the base game and free spins, we first have the Wild Side, a set of full reel sticky wilds starting from the right side of the reels that make their way across in a block until a win is created. Then we have Live Wire, which can add up to five wilds in random positions across the reels. Next, we have Girls Girls Girls, where random multipliers are added to reels 2, 3, and 4. Phew, quite the feature set? This is all topped off with a free spins feature triggered when a scatter hits on reels 1, 3, and 5. Oh, the last of the modifiers is Kickstart my Heart which may activate a random win multiplier of up to 10x in the free spins round only.

What do you say then? Up for a bit of head banging? Either way, try all those mods and features out in our free demo slot of Motley Crue, which is below.

Motley Crue Slot Paytable

Ah, yes, the heavy metal era; I remember it well. Not because I was into that style of music but because my brother and his mates indeed were. They were more into bands like Guns N’ Roses and Metallica than Motley Crue and even formed a few groups of their own, so I’m certainly no stranger to head banging, power chords, and some questionable outfits. I must admit, though, this may not have been my top choice of music, but there were occasional songs I didn’t mind. Whilst musical preferences may have now changed on the planet then, heavy metal still has a solid following, and I guess from other Play’n Go titles like Twisted Sister and Dio Killing the Dragon, this is their way of keeping that genre alive whilst paying homage to some bands that really did shake up the music scene, and no doubt breathed the fear of god into many a parent when their child walked down the stairs dressed like an additional band member.

Okay, let’s see what the game offers in the form of the paytable, then. The highest value symbol is Mick Mars, the lead guitarist paying 25x for a five of a kind win. Next, we have the drummer Tommy Lee, worth 20x for a full payline. And concluding the premium pays, we’ve got the lead singer Vince Neil and bass player Nikki Sixx, both of whom will award you 15x for all five symbols on active payline. For the lower pays, it’s the industry standard royal symbols, with the Ace and King each paying 3x for a completed line, whilst the Queen and Jack will pay 2.5x for all five symbols.

If you’ve tried out a Play’n Go slot before, you will know all about the options available when it comes to placing a bet. If not, then below the reels, you have the stake bar. This starts at €0.20 a spin, with a good selection of bets on offer before reaching the maximum playable stake of €100 a round.

Base Game & Modifiers

Motley Crue Slot Base Game
Motley Crue slot base game

Play’n Go opted for a 5×4 reel configuration on Motley Crue, so it can be a little frustrating at times when you think you have won, but remember there are only 20 paylines on this enlarged playfield. Adding some of that lovely heavy metal cash to your balance will require you to land a minimum of 3 matching symbols from left to right, and they, of course, need to be on an active payline.

Wild Side

Randomly triggered on any non-winning spin in either the base game or free spins feature, the wild side modifier will begin on the 5th reel and give you a full stack of wild symbols. If you fail to hit a winning combo, it will slide over to cover all positions on reels 4 and 5 with wilds. This will continue moving over until you finally connect a win. The dream is to make it across to reel 2 and then land some premium symbols on reel 1.

Live Wire

During any spin in the base game and free spins feature, the live wire modifier can add up to 5 wilds in random positions to increase your chances of winning. This modifier can not be active when Wild Side is in play.

Girls Girls Girls

Randomly on any spin in the base game and free spins bonus, girls symbols may land on reels 2, 3, and 4. All values on these three reels will be tallied up and multiplied by your bet. This is again not active whilst Wild Side is running.

Motley Crue Slot Bonus Features

Motley Crue Slot Free Spins Feature

The free spins bonus feature is triggered on Motley Crue when a Pentagram scatter symbol lands on each reels 1, 3, and 5. Your spin total will then be decided randomly as three numbers on the Pentagram match. This will be between 6 and 10 spins.

Free Spins

There’s plenty going on during the free spins round, with the Live Wire and Girls, Girls, Girls modifier active on each spin unless the wild side is currently in play. Wild side will be activated on any non-winning spin that hits whilst the bonus is being played. Additionally, it is possible for an extra modifier called Kickstart my Heart to trigger whilst the wild side mod is active. Depending upon the position of the wild barrier, this multiplier can reach up to 10x.

Motley Crue Slot Review Final Thoughts

Not all of the music themed slots from Play’n Go have been my cup of tea, to be honest, but I did quite enjoy spinning the reels on Motley Crue. There always seems to be something going on modifier wise, which gives you a chance to hit a half decent win in the base game, which is always a huge plus point as far as I’m concerned. I’m not entirely sure you’ll go ripping up any trees with huge wins on this slot, but in the short term, you’ll likely get a thrill out of it.
