Museum Mystery (PG Soft) Slot Demo & Review

Whether you visit the Louvre in Paris, the British Museum in London, or one of the many wonderful exhibition galleries around the world, you’ll find some incredible masterpieces and ancient artefacts to view. With such amazing delights to feast your eyes upon, this sounds like a perfect theme for an online slot to me, and game provider PG Soft had the same thoughts as they present us with their very own work of art, Museum Mystery. As for some basic stats, we’ve got a 5-reel slot with 3,456 paylines, an RTP of 96.71%, and a maximum win of 5,000x.

PG Soft likes its slots to pack a punch, and Museum Mystery has several elements that could keep you entertained. These begin with the cascading reels mechanic, triggered when winning symbols appear on the reels. Once it activates, all symbols from the win are removed from the reels and replaced with new ones, giving extra chances to win. The biggest part of the game, though, is the mystery symbol, which, when part of a win, will add a 2x multiplier to the multiplier pot before spinning in a new symbol for an additional opportunity to win. Finally, we have a free spins bonus, and during this bonus, multipliers will not reset at the end of a losing spin.

We might not be able to give you a private viewing of the Mona Lisa or King Tut’s Mask, but we do have a free play demo of Museum Mystery loaded with unlimited credits for you to access and try out below.

Gameplay & Features

Museum Mystery slot PG Soft
Museum Mystery slot PG Soft

The Museum Mystery slot is a 5-reel game played over a 4x5x5x5x4 format where a total of 3,456 ways can be active on every spin. Players will need to match at least three symbols on consecutive reels from left to right for a payout to be awarded. Joining the gameplay costs as little as €0.20, with high rollers able to bet up to a maximum of €100 a play.

Cascading Reels

Commonly known as win reactions or tumbling reels, this part of the game will become active if a winning combo is created across the playfield. All winning symbols explode, disappearing from the reels with new symbols dropping from above, potentially forming a fresh win.

Mystery Symbol & 2x Mutliplier

If a mystery symbol lands in view, it will have a 2x multiplier attached to it. If this helps to form part of a win, the multiplier will be applied to the win and collected at the bottom of the reels with the mystery symbol then spinning in a new symbol from the paytable for an extra chance to win.

Free Spins Feature

Three or more scatter symbols appearing in view will trigger the bonus and award 10 free spins, with each additional scatter awarding two extra free spins to the starting total. During the bonus, any multipliers collected at the bottom of the reels will not reset when you hit a losing spin.

Bonus Buy

Players can skip the base game and enter the free spins feature at the cost of 75x via the bonus buy feature.

Pros

  • A high RTP.
  • The building multiplier in the bonus round can help to produce some good wins.
  • A fun theme and something different from PG Soft.

Cons

  • A low jackpot of 5,000 for a slot with a global multiplier.

Museum Mystery Slot Review Final Thoughts

As PG Soft continue to target markets outside of Asia, we are seeing a more diverse range of games being developed by the provider. Yes, you have to say that Museum Mystery doesn't bring much new to the table in the form of features and mechanics, but it's another step in the right direction for PG as they look to gain more dominance in Europe.
