Game Overview

Mystery Museum Slot is both an intriguing and an entertaining title from provider Push Gaming. This ten line game has a high RTP of 96.56% and a maximum win of 62,003x your stake. Those are some impressive stats behind the game, and we’re very eager to find out more about why this game is proving so popular with online gamblers.

Slots with fewer pay lines always tend to offer bigger wins, and Mystery Museum is no exception. A power gamble feature is offered whenever you hit a big win, and this can potentially increase the game’s RTP still further to 97.04%. A new and innovative mystery stacks feature takes the old idea of mystery symbols and brings it bang up to date, turning a feature that was previously a bit of a lame duck into an exciting and generous mod. There is a regular free spins round too, which offers 8, 10, or 12 free spins if you land 3, 4, or 5 scatters respectively.

If you’re interested in finding out more about this game, then read on and enjoy our full review. Included within our article you’ll also find a free demo slot of Mystery Museum that you can enjoy at any time on your desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

Mystery Museum Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Paytable For Mystery Museum Slot

Mystery Museum looks a little basic at first, but don’t be fooled – once the reels start spinning, things get far more interesting and you will see all kinds of different themes combined into an undeniably interesting mix. Egyptian Hieroglyphics are combined with traditional Japanese symbols and elements of Greek Mythology. It’s a curious mix for sure, but somehow it works really well and it wasn’t long before I was hooked on spinning the reels of the Mystery Museum slot. I did find the sound a little irritating – the noise of a wild landing on-screen makes an enormous thud, though this issue Is potentially exacerbated by my 5.1 speaker setup. Nevertheless, I had to mute the sound after less than five minutes of play, but this could just be a personal preference.

I was excited to check out the paytable – as a ten-line game I expected some big pizes to be on offer, and I wasn’t disappointed with what I found. The wild symbol has the same payout as the top picture symbol – 500x your stake for a full line of five. The payouts do begin to drop off quickly, however – the next two symbols do return 200x and 100x your stake for five-of-a-kind, but things taper off seriously after that with just 15x your stake on offer for a full line of the next symbol, If these numbers seem a little lower than you were expecting, wait until we get to the mystery stack feature, where everything will be explained.

The betting range shown in demo mode has an unbelievable spread of 1000x – the minimum bet is set at €0.10 and the maximum is shown as being €100.00. I find it difficult to believe that any casino would allow such a huge betting range on a high variance slot like this, though perhaps this is one of the reasons it is so popular?

Base Game & Modifiers

Play With 5 Reels, 10 Paylines, And Win Up To 62,003x Your Stake In Push Gaming's Mystery Museum Online Slot

Although the Mystery Museum video slot is played on a regular 5×3 grid, somehow the design of the reel area makes it look very different to most other games. Whilst the majority of slots are much wider than they are tall, Mystery Museum is played in a square area instead – perhaps a deliberate decision for making the game easier to port to multiple devices.

Whilst Mystery Museum does have an excellent free spins bonus round, this isn’t a game where you will be spending your entire session hoping for the scatters to drop – Push has implemented a base game feature that we have never seen before, but we hope they decide to include it in some of their future releases too – there is nothing better than a slot which is just as much fun in the base game as it is in the bonus

Mystery Stacks Feature

I hit this feature on my very first spin of the Mystery Museum slot, and with no prior knowledge of the game, I couldn’t help but laugh at the irony of this slot having mystery in its title combined with the fact I had utterly no idea what was going on! Congratulations push, you unquestionably provided me with a mysterious introduction to your popular slot!

The mystery stack symbols are blue and are three rows high, so you certainly can’t miss them. If you have any part of 3 mystery stack symbols on the screen, they will nudge themselves into place so they are covering the entire reel, before a spinning window appears in the middle of each stack. The symbol which stops in the middle of the mystery stacks will then immediately replace all of the mystery stacks, guaranteeing you at least nine matching symbols on-screen. If you hit all five mystery stacks, the entire screen will be replaced by a single symbol and you will receive a payout on all ten lines. Remember, the best symbol pays 500x your stake for a single line, so the mystery stacks feature has a maximum potential win of 5,000x your stake. Not bad for a base game feature!

Mystery Museum Slot Free Spins Feature

Land 3 Or More Wild Symbols In View To Trigger The The Free Spins Feature On Mystery Museum Video Slot

The wild acts as the scatter in the Mystery Museum video slot, which is always a nice touch. The Samurai wild symbol will award 8, 10, or 12 free spins for 3, 4, or 5 of them on-screen respectively. Here’s where Push has yet another great surprise for you…

Sticky Mystery Stacks Feature

The Mystery Stacks feature was already pretty cool, but during free spins, it becomes one of the best new features we have seen in a long time. If you hit any Mystery Stacks during your free spins bonus, they will lock into place for the duration of the free spins. Should another stack land on one of the two other reels, that will lock into place as well. It is possible to get the whole screen filled with mystery stacks, and if this happens early enough in your free spins round, you can hit some truly huge winnings.

Power Gamble Feature

This is the one part of the game we did not enjoy – you can select from several different modes which are supposed to affect your odds, yet every single time we tried any of them, we ALWAYS lost! Did we just get unlucky? It’s impossible to say, but in general, we recommend staying away from gamble features in slots anyway. The only exception to this is the pie gamble, which allows you to keep a portion of your winnings safely banked.

Paid Re-trigger Feature

If you win over 100x your stake during your free spins round, the game will offer you the chance to pay 100x your stake to play the bonus again. If you won 300x or more, for example, you can keep 200x and use 100x to play another set of free spins. This is a much better deal than the Power Gamble in our opinion and is another feature we’d like to see available on other online slots.

Mystery Museum Slot Review Final Thoughts

After roughly three hours of play, we can safely say that we now fully understand the popularity of the Mystery Museum video slot. This game has had so much thought put into it, so many fresh ideas, and whilst the graphics may not be as good as those in the latest Microgaming or Play’N’Go slots, they do at least do the job. If Push keeps creating games of this quality, they will have no trouble hiring one of the industries top graphic artists very soon, that’s for sure!

This is a game that everyone will enjoy, so go fire up Mystery Museum in demo mode on your phone, tablet, or laptop right now – our guess is you’ll soon decide to play for real money.
