Naughty Nick’s Book Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
This game is obviously intended as a different take on the Christmas slot formula, and I have to say, for me, it really works. The way that even the paytable has been drawn like pages in a comic book really gives the presentation a leg up here. It probably isn’t the most generous Christmas game I have reviewed this year so far, but it’s definitely the most interesting one visually! We mentioned that this is a ten payline game earlier, which is a category that often has the best wins available on the paytable. Naughty Nick’s Book makes a good start by offering 200x your bet for five scatter symbols or 500x for the maximum of six when the additional reel has been unlocked during free spins. The “Naughty or Nice” book acts as the wild and pays the same amount as the highest-paying regular symbol – that’s 750x the current bet for a six-of-a-kind pay line in free spins or 500x your bet for five-of-a-kind during the base game. The one special feature of note in the base game of Naughty Nick’s Book is that the scatter symbol also acts as the game’s wild. This is particularly unusual in this game, as not only can you hit the book anywhere to hit a scatter win but hitting a full payline of books will pay you the higher wild prize listed on the paytable instead. It’s always nice when the scatter acts as the wild, but this unique configuration is even better, in my opinion!

Hitting three or more scattered book symbols will trigger eight free spins. If the triggering combination includes more than three scattered books, the game will pay you an increased cash prize in addition to awarding the free spin bonus round.

The free spins feature awards eight free spins initially, and additional sets of eight free spins can be won by hitting three or more scattered book symbols whilst the feature is in play.
The free games feature is played on an extended 6×3 playfield, but there are still only ten possible active paylines. This requires the shape of each payline to change in comparison to the base game, so you may want to check out the diagrams on the paytable before beginning to play.
Additionally, your bonus round is also enhanced by an expanding symbol feature that works similarly to that offered in Play’N’Go’s popular Book of Dead online slot. At the start of your feature, the game will select one symbol from the paytable to act as the expanding symbol for the duration of the bonus round. If three or more of these symbols appear on any free spin, they will expand to cover the entire reel and pay as scatter symbols on all active paylines.

Naughty Nick’s Book borrows elements from several earlier Play’N’Go slots, such as Pimped and Book of Dead and moulds them into a somewhat unique package that makes a nice change from the typical Christmas slot. I think I’ll put this on my Christmas spin list – hopefully, I will fill my stocking with lots of lovely cash.
