Net Gains Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
There are few game providers out there who can claim to have had as good a year in 2022 as Relax Gaming have. Arguably their most successful and popular release was Money Train 3, which has likely broken every record possible for the studio. However, Relax is a company that doesn’t rest on its laurels and has again teamed up with Casinogrounds to produce the slot titled Net Gains. If you haven’t tried out any of the previous releases these guys have collaborated on, then make sure you have a few spins on Beast Mode and Iron Bank, both of which are excellent slots in their own right.
Let’s get straight into the paytable then, and sitting at the top, we have the sea captain who pays 25x for a six of a kind win. He is followed by the crab that drops to 5x for a completed payline. Then we have the octopus at 4x bet for all six, the Ron Zacapa at 3x, and finally, the treasure chest worth 2x for a six of a kind hit. Moving onto the lower values, we have the royal symbols 10, J, Q, K, and Ace, with these awarding 0.6x, 0.7x, 0.8x, 1x, and 1.2x for a completed line of six, respectively. There is also a wild symbol in Net Gains, represented by the shark. This will substitute for all other regular game symbols.
Wrapping up this section is the betting range, and I have to say I’m impressed with the number of bets to play at under €1. The minimum stake is, in fact, €0.10, with this increasing in increments of 0.10 until it reaches €1. Those with a larger bankroll can play with stakes up to a maximum of €60 a spin.
Base Game & Modifiers
Played over six reels and four rows, Net Gains has a total of 4,096 paylines. Wins are awarded by landing a minimum of three matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel first. Once a winning combo has been created, all symbols from that win are removed from the reels. New symbols then fall from above through the cascading reels mechanic to fill the spaces left behind. Multiple wins can be achieved through cascades, which will only end once you fail to make a new win.
Mystery Symbols
Three types of mystery symbols can randomly land in the base game, and each has its own unique capability, as explained below:
- Regular Mystery Symbol: All landed mystery symbols will contain the same type of symbol.
- Octopus Mystery Symbol: Changes selected symbol type into mystery symbols.
- Bomb Mystery Symbol: Acts as a regular mystery symbol but also destroys all none mystery symbols after wins are added.
* If two scatter symbols have been collected, one mystery symbol can reveal a bonus symbol.
Special Bet
You can activate the special bet feature for an additional cost of 20% on top of your regular stake. This will give you an 82% higher chance of triggering the free spins bonus. It’s rare to see a provider state how much your chances are increased when using one of these features, and at 82%, I would say this is an option worth considering.
Net Gains Slot Bonus Features
The free spins feature is triggered by collecting three scatter symbols, with each additional scatter that hits after the third adding two more spins to the starting total of the bonus round that is selected. Players can choose from three options: the Coin Collect free spins, the Stacked Wild free spins, or the Sticky Mystery free spins. As I mentioned in the intro, the Hot Mode can activate before any of these bonuses begin, giving you an increased chance of hitting a big win.
Coin Collection Free Spins
You’ll begin the Coin Collection bonus with 8 free spins. Once underway, coin symbols coloured bronze (1x-40x), silver (3x-100x) and gold (10x-2,500x) may land on any of the reels. If any of these values land simultaneously as the collector symbol on reel 6, then all values will be collected and added to your balance. If four or more coins land at the same time and there is no collector symbol in view, they will be destroyed, and their values will be stored. If a collector symbol appears in the following cascades, you will be awarded the accumulated amount.
There is a special persistent collector symbol that may also appear. If this lands, it will drop to the bottom of the reels and remain there, collecting all coin symbols that land for the duration of the bonus. Furthermore, each coin that lands will be added to a meter regardless of whether it is collected or not. Once the meter reaches 10, one extra spin will be awarded, and all coin values will be increased.
Stacked Wild Free Spins
The Stacked Wild bonus will begin with 7 free spins, and during this feature, two kinds of wild exist on reels 2 – 6. These are the multiplier wilds that will always have a value between x2 – x5, and the countdown wilds that will always begin with a value of 3 and drop by one each time they are part of a win.
Sticky Mystery Free Spins
Players will be awarded 5 free spins when choosing the Sticky Mystery bonus. Once this feature begins, normal mystery symbols can land on reels 2 – 6, and after each cascade, all of these will reveal the same randomly selected symbol from the paytable. There are two more types of mystery symbols which can appear, and these are the following:
- Octopus Symbol: This will reveal a symbol type, and all of these on reels 2 – 6 will then convert into a mystery symbol.
- Bomb Symbol: Reveals a symbol like a normal mystery symbol would, but then destroys all other symbols not involved in a win.
* Every win reaction will add one to the meter. Every third addition to the meter will add one extra spin and one mystery symbol to the reels.

Net Gains Slot Review Final Thoughts
Whilst I personally didn’t enjoy Net Gains as much as the previous work Relax Gaming has done with Casinogrounds, it is still a very nice looking game with more than enough features to keep players entertained. Out of the three bonus features, if I had to pick a favourite, I would say the Sticky Mystery free spins, but try out the demo above and see which you think has the best win potential.
