Well for those that don’t know, it’s short for Non-fungible token, which is a unit of data that’s stored on a ledger called a blockchain. This might be ringing a few bells now with the likes of Bitcoin and Doge being household names of late. So it’s this theme of cryptocurrency that we are faced with in NFT Megaways™, which Red Tiger have chosen to bring to us in a cool retro style. The soundtrack and sound effects to the game come in a mixture of old and new too, which in our opinion works very well and makes for a great looking and sounding slot.
Focusing upon the paytable on NFT Megaways™ slot game, we find the lower values symbols are represented by the crypto coins Doge, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin. The premium paying symbols within the game are the Tesla car, Twitter Bird, Mona Lisa, Shiba Inu, and a diamond, where a 6 of a kind win will pay 0.8x, 1x, 1.2x, 1.4x, and 3x respectively. Cascading Reels

So we were not at all surprised to see that NFT Megaways™ features this popular in-game mechanic, which sees symbols that are a part of a winning connection removed from the reels, and new ones then dropped in from above to fill the spaces that have been left behind. The more win reactions that you achieve, the longer this sequence will continue, and with it potentially some big wins can occur.
Crypto Punks Bar & Wilds
The upper escalating reel on NFT Megaways™ is referred to as the Crypto Punks Bars, as this is where the 4 wild symbols/characters will appear. As I mentioned earlier these symbols substitute for all others but they also have a special modifier that can really help you out in creating some nice wins. When a wild appears in the crypto bar, if it forms a win with the lower value symbols then each of those symbols will be added to the wild as x1 multiplier. So if for example you hit a 6 of a kind Bitcoin win, the wild would remain in place and have a x7 multiplier attached to it.
This can keep happening and the multiplier building as long as it is only a part of a winning combo with the lower pays. Once it connects with a higher value symbol, then it will disappear and be replaced with a new symbol. Once you fail to make a new win, then the wilds will be reset back to their default value.
NFT Megaways Free Spin Feature
Landing 3 Crypto Spins scatter symbols in view will trigger the bonus round and award players with 10 free spins. Each additional scatter that lands thereafter will award a further 5 spins, with a limit of 25 spins being able to be achieved. During the bonus the Crypto Punk Wilds can once again be increased in multiplier value, but unlike in the base game their values will not reset until the end of the free spin feature. So to play NFT Megaways™ felt like a breath of fresh air with a new theme that hasn’t been tried before in Megaways™. Capitalising on the crypto boom is a shrewd move and other than PG Soft’s Crypto Gold Slot, I haven’t played anything that resembles this game at all.
The wilds are a really good focal point in both the base game and the free spin feature, and it was nice to get away from the standard Bonanza format of an incrementing win multiplier in the free spins.
