Nice Catch Doublemax Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
We’re definitely going to need to do a roundup of fishing-themed slots at some point, I think, as the category has now swelled to such an enormous size that it could make Martin Pelanek’s prized 232-pound Thai Carp blush. Still, as long as we keep getting more slots with amusing names, such as The Rodfather Megaways rather than Super Bigger Bass Bonanza Turbo Champion Edition, I’m not going to complain! That being said, Nice Catch doesn’t really look like anything special in the presentation stakes – come on Yggdrasil, we know you can produce better graphics, animations, and sound than this!
The developer has done their best to make the paytable as bewildering as possible, too; we’ve got a swordfish that pays 1x the total bet for a full payway of five of a kind at the top of the list, followed by what looks like an ancient, and broken, mobile phone with a return of 8x for all five symbols. The next symbol looks like a drink of some kind. But is that a starfish stuck to the side of it? I did say it was all a little odd, didn’t I! The poisonous soft drink will bag you 4x for a complete pay way, whilst a single shoe gets you 2x, and an anchor returns 1x for all five of those. I’m sure there’s some logic here somewhere; just don’t ask me where? The four low pays include hearts and spades at 0.6x each, and finally, diamonds and clubs at 0.5x for a five-of-a-kind combination. Nothing too exciting then, but don’t forget that you can boost all of these prizes by up to 256x if you can catch a bunch of fish symbols as well!
Betting options range from €0.20 to €20.00, with nine other permitted wagers available between those two extremes. This is not the most extensive list of bets you will come across, but there should still be ample choice for those wanting to play for real money.
Base Game & Modifiers
Nice Catch plays out in a typical 243-way fashion – there are five reels of three rows each, and you’ll need three identical adjacent symbols starting from the leftmost reel to award a win. Alternatively, any combination of a fisherman on reel five, along with one or more fish on the remaining reels, will award a prize as well.
Fisherman
The fisherman can only be found on reel 5. If he lands in view, he will collect the value of all fish symbols currently visible on the screen.
Doublemax
This feature is triggered when fish prizes are won from left to right, unlocking the DoubleMax multiplier. The multiplier applies to all wins resulting from the current game round. The available multipliers are: 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, 64x, 128x, 256x.

Hitting three or more bonus scatter symbols will trigger the free spin bonus round. A minimum three-scatter trigger awards eight free spins, whilst four or five scatters award 11 or 14 free spins, respectively.
Free Spins
The free spins feature plays out identically to the base game, except that Doublemax multipliers do not reset between free spin rounds.
