Nitropolis 2 Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
This game has a definite “Fast & Furious” vibe to it. However, the similarities aren’t quite as blatant as those visible in NetEnt’s cheeky Drive: Multiplier Mayhem online slot! Racing is a somewhat underrepresented theme in the online slots industry, but there have been a few recent slots of note in the category. One such game is Play’N’Go’s USA Flip, although we weren’t overly impressed by that machine when we reviewed it here at Demoslot. Push Gaming’s Mad Cars is a better example, although I’m confident that Nitropolis 2 could easily win a race against the pair of them!
When a game includes close to 200 million payways, you can bet your last dollar that the paytable will not give you an accurate representation of its potential to deliver big wins. Despite this, it’s always nice to know which symbols will return the biggest rewards, so I’ll give a quick breakdown of the table anyway. The game includes three categories of symbols – high-paying drivers, medium-paying team logos, and low-paying royals. The yellow symbols have the highest values, with 3x, 0.5x, and 0.4x for the driver, team, and royal, respectively. The reds place second with returns of 0.9x/0.5x/0.4x, whilst the purple and greens lag behind at 0.8x/0.5x/0.4x and 0.7x/0.5x/0.4x, respectively. All these symbols appear in stacks, and when combined with the nitro reels, this creates plenty of opportunities to win on a huge number of those 200 million pay ways simultaneously. It really does feel outrageous every time I write that…!
There might be a ridiculous number of pay ways, but the same cannot be said about the available wagers. The minimum bet of €0.20 is good, but there are only a handful of options before you reach the maximum of €100.00 per spin.
Base Game & Modifiers
When you first open Nitropolis 2, you are confronted by what appears to be a 6×4 playfield, but the game has several tricks up its sleeve. Just like a Megaways game, you will want to keep an eye on the ways counter displayed at the top of the reel set during play, as this will tell you the resulting number of payways according to how many Nitro Reels have landed on the current spin. Wins pay in both directions in this game, meaning you only need to land three adjacent symbols starting from the left or right to score a win.
Nitro Reels
The Nitro Reels are actually double-height symbols which can appear anywhere on the reel set. Each Nitro Reel has a number written on it to show how many “rows” it represents, which can be 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12. If a winning combination contains multiple nitro reels, these numbers are multiplied.
Winning Respin
Whenever a winning combination lands on the reels, it will lock in place, and each of the reels included in the win will be re-spun with the Nitro Booster modifiers shown on the top reel to create further winning opportunities.
Nitro Booster
The top row of Nitropolis 2 is the Nitro Booster reel and does not contain any regular symbols. Instead, the reel contains six modifier symbols; the first three affect all currently visible symbols, whilst the second three will only affect symbols that appear directly below it.
- All Wild / Nitro Wild: All Nitro Reels will be converted into wild symbols.
- All Premium / Nitro Wild: Transforms all Nitro Reels into higher value symbols and boosts the number of ways represented by the symbol.
- All Match / Nitro Match: Transforms all Nitro Reels into another symbol that appears on the preceding reel, potentially creating a new winning combination.
Nitropolis 2 Slot Bonus Features
The main bonus round is triggered by hitting at least three scatter symbols anywhere on the reel set. The minimum three-scatter trigger awards 10 free spins, with five additional spins added for each extra scatter.
Free Spins
In this mode, all Nitro Reels that land on the playfield will become sticky for the duration of the bonus round. Nitropolis 2 Slot Review Final Thoughts
Nitropolis 2 is a worthy successor to the original game. The original already included a wealth of exciting features, but the new additions offered here make this game even more fun – and lucrative! If I had to pick something to criticise, then I guess that the 95% RTP is a little bit stingy; it may be just 1% less than the industry average, but that is still going to be enough to have a noticeable effect on how much play time you will get for a given bankroll.
