Outlaw Megaways (Big Time Gaming) Slot Demo & Review

Well, well, well, this is going to be an interesting one. Big Time Gaming (BTG)’s new title Outlaw Megaways, is the third in their series of slots associated with the hard rock band The Cult. The game itself has the standard 117,649 maximum possible ways to win, along with a 96.10% RTP and a top prize of 64,400x bet. So how will this slot shape up against its predecessors? Let’s dig a little deeper.

Regarding features, there are plenty of callbacks here to Danger! High Voltage. The full-reel wild stacks are back; however, this time, there are two of them – something which will begin to form an ongoing theme very shortly – a wild outlaw and a wild sheriff. The outlaw is just a regular wild, whilst the sheriff also has a 7x multiplier – the graphics may be different, but in reality, this isn’t very different from DHV. Once again, there are two free spin modes, both of which are based on the bonus rounds from previous games. However, a special super-scatter symbol can enhance these features significantly in Outlaw, potentially allowing you to have two sticky wild symbols in the first mode or an increased maximum multiplier of 777x in the second. The bonus buy facility is new, but this will only interest players who are permitted to use such features in their jurisdiction.

Are you a fan of The Cult? or just love this series of slots from BTG? If so, you can’t afford to miss out free demo slot of Outlaw Megaways, available to play below.

Outlaw Megaways Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Outlaw Megaways Slot Paytable
Outlaw Megaways slot paytable

The first Danger! High Voltage game did not really have a specific theme; some of the symbols featured on the reels could be roughly associated with the title if you were really stretching your imagination, but its popularity with undeniably based on its potential for huge wins rather than its graphics or presentation. Outlaw rectifies this slight shortfall of the original game by incorporating a distinct Wild West theme (which makes sense given the song title ), something that has proven popular for many other developers in the past. The original Money Train had a Wild West theme before moving on to the Cyberpunk era in its sequels, and of course, NetEnt’s Dead or Alive online slots always deserve a mention when discussing the Wild West genre. By releasing Outlaw, Big Time Gaming has guaranteed itself a seat at the table immediately to the right of these other top-tier games.

The numbers on the paytable of Outlaw are intended to be multiplied by your stake, as stated underneath each of the symbols represented there. That’s perfect for my purposes, as I always like to give wins in terms of multiple-of-stake anyway, so let’s start with the highest-paying skull symbol, which will pay you 10x your bet for every full payway of six-of-a-kind. The red rose is next, but there is a considerable drop here – straight down to just 1.25x for every completed payway. The blue medicine bottle is worth just 0.5x for each set of six, whilst the big green vegetable has the same return at 0.5x. The remaining symbols are all lower-paying royals, with the A/K/Q returning 0.4x for each full way of six-of-a-kind, whilst the J/10/9 pay 0.3x instead. Clearly, the skull is the one symbol capable of awarding seriously impressive returns here!

Betting options seem relatively limited by top-tier slot standards, with a minimum bet of €0.20 and a maximum wager per round of just €15.00. Considering the potential that a game like this has, however, then I really don’t see that being a problem – this is an ultra-volatile game that has sticky wilds, a 777x maximum multiplier, up to 117,649 pay ways, and a symbol that returns 10x per payway, just think about those statistics for a moment!

Base Game & Modifiers

Up To 64,400x Bet Can Be Won In The Outlaw Megaway Slot
Outlaw Megaways slot base game

On to the base game, then. There are six reels, each of which can divide into between two and seven segments on each spin, and the centre four reels have additional special symbols on them which reels one and six do not, which explains why BTG has chosen to make things look a little unusual this time around.

Full Reel Wilds

These special full-reel wild symbols are one of the most important symbols that can land only on the centre four reels. It’s fantastic that you have the ability to hit a full-reel wild symbol, of course, but the downside is that these symbols only behave as a single symbol for payout purposes; stacked wilds often act as if they were three or more separate symbols, however large the reel stack may be so that this oddity can be a little disappointing at first.

Outlaw Megaways Slot Bonus Features

Players Can Trigger An Enhacned Bonus Round On Outlaw Megaways
Outlaw Megaways slot free spins feature

There are both regular and megascatter symbols on the reels of Outlaw, and you will need three or more of these to trigger some free spins. Three or more scatters of any kind are good to get you some spins, but you’ll need at least one megascatter symbol if you want to bag yourself the “enhanced” mode of either feature. We’ve included the details of each feature’s regular and enhanced modes below.

Fallen Angel Free Spins

Hit three regular scatters and choose the Fallen Angel Free Spins, and you will be rewarded with seven free spins with sticky wild symbols. This feature works just like the one in Danger! High Voltage, so the chances are you are already familiar with it.

One symbol from the paytable will be selected before your free spins begin, and every occurrence of that symbol on reels 2-5 during the next seven spins will transform into a sticky wild symbol. If you manage to fill an entire reel with wild symbols, the game will add three more free spins to your remaining total. This means that you can potentially play up to 19 free spins in this mode, and if you do get that far, the last three of those spins will come with a huge block of wild symbols in the middle of the screen – guaranteed.

The enhanced version of this feature will spin in not one but two symbols before your bonus round begins! With two different symbols transforming into sticky wilds, you have twice as much chance of filling reels, winning additional spins, and bagging yourself an insane win.

Dizzy In The Head Free Spins

If you haven’t felt a little sense of deja-vu already, then surely you will do after you have finished reading about this feature! The “Dizzy in the Head” spins have a special ladder wild symbol – just like the one featured in Lil Devil and Wild Flower – but the difference this time is that the symbol is guaranteed to land on every free spin.

The ladder wild will move randomly around the centre reels before a lightning strike stops it in its tracks, and the lights will begin rising up the ladder until they reach your winning number. The maximum in the regular mode is 77x, a little better than the 66x maximum that was possible in the original game.

The real killer here, though, is, of course, the enhanced mode, which increases the size of the ladder so that the maximum win is a staggering 777x instead. That is a truly impressive number and could potentially result in some insane winnings – you can also re-trigger this mode by hitting three or more scatter symbols whilst the feature is in play. Three scatters award four free spins, while four or five will give you six or eight free spins, respectively.

There’s just one more tweak to mention: each time you land a win on the wild ladder, the bottom rung will move up one position starting on the next spin. This means that if you manage to win on your first seven free spins, you are guaranteed to have the 111x multiplier for your eighth spin. There’s nothing to say it won’t be larger than this, but it’s cool that BTG has included this little extra bonus to supercharge your winnings.

Win Exchange

The win exchange feature makes another return in Outlaw Megaways. So, any wins of 100x or over will allow you to swap 100x of your winnings for access to the free spins feature, Anything below this amount but 25x your bet or above can be gambled for a chance of the free spins via the pie gamble.

Bonus Buy

The two regular bonus rounds cost just 70x your bet to purchase directly from the bonus buy menu, which seems like a bargain to me. The two enhanced modes, however, increase this significantly – you’ll need to pay 300x the regular wager for instant access to those.

Even at this premium price, however, this is one game where I genuinely feel as if the price of the feature is worth the buy in. If I had the option to use this facility, I would definitely be doing so at least a couple of times every session. Just remember never to spend more than you can afford!
