Game Overview
I have to say it – the name of this new game from Stakelogic seriously triggers me. You tell me – is that grammatically correct? Shouldn’t it be Outlaw Hunter or Outlaw Hunters? I’m sure that Outlaws Hunter isn’t right. I’m genuinely not sure, but the point still stands – please, Stakelogic, fix this for me, would you?! I’ve forced myself to calm down a little now so that I can tell you that… Outlaws Hunter(!) features 50 fixed paylines and a 95.97% RTP. There’s no mention of a maximum win as far as I can tell, so perhaps we will try and calculate one ourselves after checking out the paytable later.
Outlaws Hunter includes several expanding wild symbols, which are crucial to pursuing the game’s biggest wins. Why? Every outlaw wild that appears doesn’t just expand but has a multiplier attached to it as well. If more than one outlaw wild appears on a single pay line, their values will be added together for even bigger wins. Wilds can also trigger the so-called “Tomahawk Storm” feature, which converts all visible low-paying symbols into wilds. A free spin bonus round is also included, as well as a bonus bet feature that will significantly increase your chances of reaching it.
So, are you annoyed by the title of this game? Am I being ridiculous? Ah, just play our free demo slot of Outlaws Hunter and forget I ever said anything!
Outlaws Hunter Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Outlaws are a staple of any game based on the Wild West, and we’ve talked about those countless times here at Demoslot. How about outlaws specifically, though? I found Outlaw Saloon in our database, a fun game, but undoubtedly overshadowed by the new game simply titled Outlaw from Big Time Gaming! Despite its name, Outlaw is, in fact, a sequel to the incredibly popular Danger! High Voltage and doesn’t actually have very much to do with outlaws at all. Bottom line? There are plenty of games that feature the word “Outlaw” in their title, but you’ll be much better off searching for Wild West-themed games if you want to find the highest-paying outlaws in the… West?
Taking a look at the paytable, the wild symbol and the highest-paying outlaw symbol both have a return of 10x your bet for a full payline of five-of-a-kind. A pair of guns take the second-place spot and pay 8x for all five, tied with a cowboy hat which is also worth 8x for a complete pay line. There’s a horseshoe that is worth 6x for five-of-a-kind, as well as a whiskey tumbler with the same return… is it just me, or do many of those symbols sound more than a little familiar? It’s a shame that the scatters have no cash value, as nothing that has appeared on the paytable so far is particularly exciting in terms of its payout. I guess this must be due to the game’s large number of paylines, but it still feels somewhat disappointing.
The betting range available in Outlaws Hunter is unbelievable; the minimum bet is relatively high at €0.50 per spin, but the maximum bet is outrageously high at €500.00! I could accept there being an option to pay so much per round for those who want to play this way, but the game only offers 10 bets between these two extremes. I can see many players struggling to find a bet that suits them when playing this slot.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game of Outlaws Hunter looks a lot like any other online slot to begin with, although the playfield is slightly larger than average at 5×4 symbols high. With 50 fixed paylines, however, you aren’t likely to notice that you are playing on an enlarged reel set any time soon. Unfortunately, the larger than average number of paylines does mean that you won’t find many big hits on the paytable. On the plus side, the many expanding wilds on the reels make it relatively easy to win simultaneously on at least a handful of paylines.
Expanding Wilds
Each wild symbol which appears in view will expand after the reels have stopped spinning. There are five expanded outlaw wilds which can show up after this happens, each of which has a different multiplier range. If more than one stack of wilds appears as part of a winning payline, then the two multipliers are added together before being applied to your win.
Tomahawk Storm
Occasionally you may notice that a new outlaw appears instead of the usual five! He’s known as “angry bear” (sounds scary, right?) and will only ever appear on reel three. Each time you spot angry bear, the Tomahawk Storm modifier will be triggered, transforming all low-paying symbols into wilds.
Superstake
The Super Stake feature doubles the cost of each spin in return for boosting your chances of hitting the free spin bonus round. The paytable mentions that your chances of hitting the feature with super stake enabled are one in 95.97, but there’s no mention of the odds when the feature is disabled! Because of this, it isn’t possible to make a determination as to whether this is a good deal or not.
Outlaws Hunter Slot Bonus Features
Three or more scatter symbols will trigger the free spins feature, but Stakelogic seems to have forgotten to tell us what benefits hitting more than three scatter symbols will give us! We do get a little clue; however, courtesy of the gamble wheel, which shows up after the bonus round is triggered with segments representing between five and 20 free spins.
Free Spins
In this mode, every wild symbol that appears has a boosted multiplier value of between 2x and 500x. Better yet, all wilds that land during free spins are sticky and will remain in their position for the duration of the bonus round.
The sticky wilds combined with the extra multipliers offered during this mode make it much more profitable than the base game. Unfortunately, there is no bonus buy facility, so I could only test a limited number of features as I was writing this review. Despite the very small sample size, my results were particularly encouraging and definitely made me want to continue playing for a while longer than I should have done!
Outlaws Hunter Slot Review Final Thoughts
Stakelogic doesn’t go wrong very often, and Outlaws Hunter is another definite win for the developer, except for the grammatically incorrect title. I’m intrigued to know how much this game can pay out – I suspect that things could get crazy during the free spins, considering the sticky wilds and huge multipliers. Keep an eye out for videos of this game on YouTube, as I suspect we’ll be seeing some crazy wins during the coming weeks and months!
