Oxygen Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
In the intro of this slot review, I mentioned I’m a big fan of what Elk Studios has produced in recent years. I’ll always value a software development company that strives to innovate over one that rarely leaves its comfort zone. With that being the case, I play many Elk Studio slots when gambling with Nitropolis 4 regularly featured on my playlist. I love its extremely high variance and the wide range of Nitro Booster modifiers that, alongside Nitro Reels and Giant Symbols, can cause what I’d classify as poetic mayhem. The more the chaos, the better the payouts – especially during the free spins bonus feature. Is Oxygen another Elk Studios slot I’d happily play in my spare time? I’m quietly confident, but let’s see what the symbols pay before getting into all the base game modifiers and any bonus rounds before I decide. The Scuba Diving Helmet tops the payouts, giving you 100x your stake for a 14-symbol cluster. A collection of fish also provides some attractive payouts. The Pink, Orange, and Green fish pay 50x, 30x, and 25x, respectively. Far less exciting but worthwhile all the same are the 20x, 15x, and 10x wins made possible by the Pink, Orange, and Green Gem symbols.
Spinning the reels of the Oxygen slot requires a minimum bet of €0.20. If you prefer wagering more, you can choose from a further eleven staking options up to a maximum of €100.00.
Oxygen Slot Base Game
A cluster pays engine and cascading reels once again combine, leading to the potential for multiple wins on any given spin. Any 5 or more matching symbols landing in a cluster over the 7×7 reel matrix will provide you with a payout. The avalanche/cascading mechanic removes all symbols involved in a winning combination and replaces them with new ones for further chances to win.
Oxygen Bubbles & Multipliers
After every winning combination, bubbles appear in the positions of all winning symbols. If new symbols drop into those positions on the following cascade, the bubbles have a 2x multiplier. Any subsequent winning symbols in those positions then double the multiplier to a maximum of 2,048x.
Multiplier Strike
This randomly triggered feature places a random number of multipliers on the reels.
Multiplier Collector
Regular symbols can have a swirling graphic beneath them. If part of a winning cluster, it collects and combines all multiplier values on the reels. The position of that symbol then holds that multiplier value.
Multiplier Dealer
If a regular symbol has a radar effect beneath, it becomes a Multiplier Dealer. This symbol multiplies all multipliers in one random direction if part of a winning combination. All multipliers in that direction receive at least a 2x increase.
Wild Symbols
Three wild symbols can land on the reels of the Oxygen video slot. All will substitute for all regular paying symbols.
- Regular Wild: This just performs the standard Wild symbol role.
- Exploding Wild: This wild symbol explodes to remove all regular symbols in an X-shaped direction. Any other features or feature symbols in the explosion will trigger.
- X-Blaster Wild: When involved in a winning combination, the X-Blaster symbol converts all symbols in an X-shaped direction into the same regular or wild symbol.
Big Symbols
Standard regular symbols are 1×1 in size, but there is a chance for larger symbols of 2×2, 3×3, and 4×4 to land on the reels.
Oxygen Slot Bonus Features
As you can see, the base game alone is a reason to pick up and play Elk’s Oxygen slot. However, there’s also a free spins bonus that features all the above base game modifiers, wild symbols, and multipliers. You just need to land 3 or more bonus symbols anywhere in view to trigger it.
Free Spins Feature
Once triggered, you receive 10 free spins of the reels. During the free spins bonus, all multipliers are persistent. That means they will not reset between spins. It’s also possible to trigger further free spins. You receive 5 free spins if you land 3 or more bonus symbols or 3 free spins if you land 2.
Super Free Spins Feature
If you land three bonus symbols on the same spin as a persistent multiplier (Multiplier Strike, Collector, or Dealer), you trigger 10 Super Free Spins. During this feature, at least one persistent multiplier feature is active.

As I expected, Elk Studios has done it again. The developer has created yet another exhilarating slot game experience. You never know what is going to happen next. Sure, you could argue all the modifiers and features are just there as visual gimmicks on top of an RNG, which has already decided what multiplier of your stake you’ve won. But I don’t care; I like all the gimmicks as it leads to a more exciting slot experience.
