The purple variants have the same ability but can also convert regular symbols into crop circles which will multiply the value of all wins that result from the current game round. Landing both types of pigeon simultaneously guarantees you a set of free spins, which are enhanced by additional wild and crop circle symbols. Hitting these special symbols together seemed especially difficult during my testing of this machine, so I was pleased to see that Rare Stone had also included a bonus buy facility which allows you to bypass the base game if you wish.

Pigeons From Space Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
They say that outer space is the final frontier, and it’s one that online slot developers are only just beginning to explore! I’m a big fan of classic sci-fi series, so I am always eager to check out any space-themed slots that appear on our release list here at Demoslot! Push Gaming has developed several excellent space slots, such as Space Stacks and Mystery Mission to the Moon, but I find it quite surprising that we haven’t seen way more of these games by now – you know the world has gone mad when there are ten times as many fishing-themed slots as there are space ones! Unfortunately, pigeons from Space isn’t the best looking or most generous online slot I have reviewed recently, but I still hope it does well simply because I’d love to see more games released in this category.
The line hit prizes offered in Pigeons from Space are nothing to get excited about, unfortunately, as all of the biggest prizes are tied up in the free games bonus round. The Sphinx has the largest payout of the bunch, but at just 1.5x the total bet for a full payline of five of a kind, I’m sure you can understand why I am not hugely impressed. The Statue of Liberty will pay 1x the total stake for a complete payline, as will Big Ben, whilst the Eiffel Tower and Sydney Opera House share the lowest returns of the high-paying symbols at 0.8x for all five symbols. All four of the low-paying royal symbols share identical returns of 0.5x for a five of a kind combination. The symbols do appear in stacks, and the unusual hexagonal reel layout makes it much easier to win on a large number of paylines simultaneously. Even taking both of these factors into account; however, the base game returns are still disappointing.
When playing in demo mode, the betting range available in Pigeons from Space offers minimum/maximum wagers of €0.10 and €500.00 per spin, respectively. The maximum bet when playing for real money is likely to be lower than this, however, and will probably vary from one casino to the next.
Base Game & Modifiers
The main reel set in this game is very unusual as it is made up of hexagonal segments rather than the more typical squares that feature in the majority of other online slots. I couldn’t help but think of the game show ‘Blockbusters’ when I saw this arrangement, although I suspect many of you reading this will be far too young to remember the program!
Reels one and five feature three rows, increasing to four rows on reels two and four and five on reel three. This layout forces the 36 available paylines to be arranged in an unusual configuration, so you may wish to check the paytable to view the arrangement before beginning to play. All line wins pay on adjacent reels from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
Blue Pigeon Symbol
Whenever a single blue pigeon lands on the reel set, he will begin to drop several wild symbols in random positions on the playfield. Once the pigeon has finished adding wilds to the reels, a free re-spin is awarded with all of the new wild symbols locked in place. If another pigeon lands during the re-spin, a further re-spin will be granted.
Purple Pigeon Symbol
Whenever a single purple pigeon lands on the reel set, he will drop a single crop circle symbol somewhere on the playfield. If another pigeon lands during the re-spin, a further re-spin will be awarded. The crop circle symbol has a cash reward awarded at the end of all free re-spins resulting from this feature.
Pigeons From Space Slot Bonus Features
There are no traditional scatter symbols available on the reels of Pigeons from Space, as the main bonus round is instead triggered by hitting two of the coloured pigeon symbols simultaneously. When this occurs, six free games will be awarded.
Free Spins
Immediately after the bonus round is triggered, the blue pigeon will begin to drop wild symbols onto the playfield, becoming sticky for the duration of your free spins. The purple pigeon will drop a single crop circle symbol, which will also be locked in place until the end of the bonus round.
Further pigeons may fly onto the playfield during the free games feature before each spin. Blue pigeons will add one or more additional sticky wilds, whilst the purple pigeons can drop further crop circles that will award a single large cash prize at the end of the bonus round.
This feature was a real surprise – it’s fantastic! Up to this point, I had been thoroughly underwhelmed by this machine. Of course, it’s still far from perfect, but if you gather a large number of sticky wild symbols, it should be possible to hit a reasonably exciting payout from this game after all.
Bonus Buy
The base game of Pigeons from Space isn’t all that impressive, so I’m pleased to say that a bonus buy facility is available at a very reasonable cost of 55x the normal price per spin. If you are going to play this game, I’d definitely suggest taking advantage of this option.
Pigeons From Space Slot Review Final Thoughts
The bonus round of Pigeons from Space saves the game from being a total miss, but it still isn’t enough to meet the standards set by previous space-themed slots from the likes of Push Gaming. This is worth checking out as a curiosity, but not much more than that.
