The slot I’ll be reviewing today is the second Bullshark Games release I’ve tested in as many weeks, and again, they’ve teamed up with Hacksaw Games to make use of their tried and tested OpenRGS platform. The scene for this latest title is a wooden hut in a secluded lakeside setting, surrounded by rolling hills and towering mountains. It’s the epitome of relaxation, and I feel at one with nature just by looking at it – let’s hope the gameplay is as smooth and enjoyable as the graphics. It’s called Piggy Cluster Hunt, and it’s a high volatility, seven-reel, seven-row slot featuring a maximum win of 15,000x and an RTP of 96.23%.
The lucky inhabitant of this peaceful paradise is a rotund, dungaree-wearing pig who seems just as happy as I would be to be chilling his beans away from the pressures of life and other people in general. The gameplay on Piggy Cluster Hunt takes place on a 7×7 grid, and wins are achieved in cluster pays fashion. This means that a minimum of five matching symbols need to be connected in some shape or form anywhere on the screen. Any symbols involved in a win will subsequently be removed from the grid through the tumbling reels engine, allowing new ones room to drop into play from the top of the reels.
Progressive Win Multiplier
Above the main reel set, a three-sectioned window can be seen. At the start of each spin, three symbols will appear in this window, consisting of either a multiplier value or a pig symbol, which represents a blank space. The value of the multiplier in the leftmost of these three positions will be applied to any win value from the initial cascade.
After this, if there is one, the next multiplier will be added or multiplied by the first value to produce the next multiplier, which is then applied to any wins that occur in the second cascade. This process will then repeat if there is a third multiplier value in the window and a third winning cascade, and the final multiplier value produced will be applied to any further wins after that, which occur within the same spin.
Values in this window can appear in two forms: those that will sum together and those that will multiply a previous value. This is signified by the position of the ‘x’, with the sum values having the ‘x’ after the number and the multiplication values having it before. The possible values are as follows:
- Sum: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 30x, 40x, 50x, 75x, 100x
- Multiply: x2, x3, x4, x5, x10
Exploding Wilds
One or more exploding wild symbols can land on any spin and are depicted as a barrel with a cord protruding from the top. The pig will then shoot any of these symbols, and additional wilds will spray from them, covering surrounding grid positions. In the base game, a minimum of two extra wilds, up to eight, are added, whilst in the bonus game, a minimum of four extra wilds are guaranteed.

The last time I reviewed a Bullshark Games release, I was slightly harsh, particularly when I criticised the small grid area, which turned out to be my fault for being a tech biff and not rotating my mobile device to landscape. So, I went into this review with a renewed sense of optimism and a correctly orientated device, where I discovered a very solid slot in Piggy Cluster Hunt. There are a couple of minor improvements that I’d recommend, such as a tweak to the second version of the bonus buy game, where the extra feature of a guaranteed minimum 5x multiplier does not go far enough for my liking. However, the theme and visuals are great, the exploding wild and progressive multiplier system adds a lot of entertainment value, and the RTP and max win potential are strong enough to please most players. All those things considered, I think this is a very good effort that many people will enjoy.
