Game Overview
Is it a slot game? Is it a Plinko game? Actually, Print Studio’s Pine of Plinko 2 is both at the same time. As its title suggests, it’s not even the first of its kind. It is the sequel to Pine of Plinko Dream Drop, a title that offered the chance to win a massive progressive jackpot as you played along. I’m not going to lie; the fact the sequel does not provide the same has me quite worried. However, let’s see if this 5-reel, 3-row, and 10-payline slot makes up for that in other areas. Well, the RTP of between 96.32% and 96.56% is much better than the 93.48% offered by the original. A 20,000x max win is also double the previous.
As for the bonus features, not much is happening – especially in the base game. Pine of Plinko 2, once again, is geared around the Plinko Bonus. Each ball dropped can land up to 1,000x the stake, while random Golden Balls can deliver up to 10,000x. Plus, if you fill the meter above the Plinko board, you earn extra drops with double the balls.
If you’re unfamiliar with Plinko, I suggest you check out the Pine of Plinko 2 slot demo below. You can use a buy feature to trigger the bonus without wasting your real money. You will quickly see what Plinko is all about. However, I got stuck playing that bonus for some time as it’s quite addictive – so be warned!
Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
I’ll be honest, the first time I came across Plinko was playing Evolution’s Crazy Time live casino gameshow, as it is used for the Pachinko bonus round. However, as that bonus is triggered sparingly and operated by a live host, I didn’t find it entertaining unless I scooped a big win. However, my opinion of the game changed dramatically when I first played Print Studios Pine of Plinko slot and even more so after triggering the bonus round on Pine of Plinko 2. More on that later, as first, I want to dive into the payouts of this slot.
While the base game lacks modifiers or special features, the hefty symbol payouts help compensate for that. The four funnily-named characters offer the more exciting payouts, with Piney the highest value and worth 200x. Next comes Kingly, paying 50x, Coney following at 20x, and finally, Wesly, bringing in 10x for a completed line of five. The low pays are represented by Purple, Yellow, and Green symbols, which produce the smaller wins of 3x, 2x, and 2x, respectively, for a winning combination of five.
There’s quite a large bet spread on Pine of Plinko 2, with the minimum price to play starting at just €0.10 and the maximum bet reaching €50. Players will find several options within this range that will ensure they can find a stake comparable to their bankroll.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game, as mentioned, doesn’t feature anything too sensational. You have a 5×3 reel matrix in play with 10 fixed paylines where three or more matching symbols landing on an active payline will create winning combinations.
Scatter Boost
For double the cost of your spin bet, you can trigger the Scatter Boost feature. This ensures more scatters on the reels and, therefore, a greater chance to trigger the Plinko Bonus.
Pine Of Plinko 2 Slot Bonus Features
The Plinko bonus round begins once you land three or more scatters in any position on the reels. When totalled up, the random numbers on the scatter symbols are the number of balls used for each drop in the Plinko game.
Scatter Re-roll
Before the Plinko Bonus begins, you can gamble for more balls on each drop. This costs a predetermined amount, and you can continue gambling until the number is deemed too high to allow for another gamble.
Plinko Bonus
You can drop the balls at your chosen speed during the Plinko Bonus. You can drop them one by one slowly, or do what I do and press the button as fast as you can so they all drop quickly. Each ball dropped could pay up to 1,000x depending on the multiplier value of the buckets they land. Those buckets hold values of 0.1x, 0.5x, 1x, 5x, 10x, 100x, and 1000x, with the higher values located further away from the centre of the Plinko board.
Bumper Buckets are in the middle of the board, which increases the meter above the game when touched by the balls. When the meter fills up, you move to the next stage and earn another drop. Each stage doubles the number of balls dropped. So, the second stage doubles the initial number of balls dropped while stages 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 give you 4x, 8x, 16x, 32, 128, and 256x the initial number of balls dropped.
Keep a look out for the Golden Ball too, which can be triggered randomly at the start of a stage, where one or two pockets can turn Golden. If a ball drops into those pockets during the feature, you win a Golden Ball. This is a single drop of a Golden Ball into pockets with improved payouts of up to 10,000x.
Bonus Buy
For the cost of 92x the bet, you can utilise the feature buy button and instantly trigger the bonus round on Pine of Plinko 2
Pros
- Addictive Plinko Bonus feature.
- Great payout potential of 20,000x
Cons
- The base game is a little lacklustre.
Pine Of Plinko 2 Slot Review Final Thoughts
My colleague reviewed the original Pine of Plinko slot, and to show how opinions can differ, it didn't appeal to him. That is a shock for me, especially considering the original had a Dream Drop progressive jackpot bolted on that could net players up to €10 million! As for me, I enjoyed Pine of Plinko 2, and I have a feeling that for many who play this slot, the Plinko Bonus game will completely hook them in, just like it did me.
