It’s always a great day when I see a title such as “Pin-Up Girls” on the list of new slots to review, so many thanks to Pragmatic Play for giving me something other than fruits and sweets to write about for once! I’m only joking, of course – slots come in an almost infinite variety of themes and concepts, although the number of machines featuring scantily clad females is frustratingly low! There are 20 fixed paylines and a 96.44% RTP, but the top win is capped very low at just 3,000x the current bet. I guess it’s just like they say – you can’t have everything!
The base game of Pin-Up Girls works very differently from other online slots, as you are always playing in ten spin cycles. A counter is shown in the top-left of the screen to let you know where you are within this cycle. A possible multiplier is displayed next to every symbol on reels two, three, and four throughout each set of ten spins, but you will need to catch a wild symbol on the tenth spin for the multiplier to take effect. A free spin bonus round has only been included, as well as a bonus buy facility allowing you to skip straight there if the base game does not excite you.
I’m sure I don’t need to sell this machine to our male readers, but I’d be curious to know how many female players enjoy slots that use this type of theme! Perhaps it’s time for a Pin-Up Boys online slot, too?! I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for that one, though, and it might be best to settle for our free demo slot of Pin-Up Girls instead!

Pinup Girls Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The last game that I remember playing, which shared a similarly sexy theme to Pin-Up Girls, was probably Microgaming’s excellent Playboy online slot – that must have been well over five years ago by now! We could include slots such as Gaelic Luck here, as it does feature a bunch of attractive ladies, but the game’s overall theme definitely isn’t centred around them in the same way as it is here. I’d really like to see Nolimit City try their hands at a game such as this, as they have proved themselves more than qualified to produce machines based on other mature themes.
A Marilyn Monroe look-alike sits at the top of the paytable, quite rightly, and has a return of 37.5x the current bet for a full payline of five-of-a-kind. Another lovely lady who hasn’t finished washing her hair occupies the second-place position, paying 20x the bet for all five symbols. Two more high-paying symbols are represented by other pin-up girls, awarding 12.5x and 8.75x the bet for a complete pay line. The perfume bottle pays 6.25x the bet for all five symbols, whilst the high heels have a return of 5x the current stake. Five royals complete the low-paying section of the paytable and pay between 2x and 3x the current bet for five-of-a-kind.
The minimum/maximum permitted wagers have been set at €0.20 and €100.00 per spin, respectively. This is pretty much the standard when it comes to Pragmatic slots, so you’re guaranteed to be able to find a stake size between these amounts that you are comfortable playing at.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game of Pinup Girls utilises a 5×4 reel set with 20 fixed paylines spanning the playfield. Visually the game looks much like any other online slot, but once you start spinning, you will soon realise that the gameplay of this machine is very different from the norm.
Progressive Feature
This machine is played in cycles of ten spins, so you’ll want to keep an eye on where you are within a cycle by looking at the counter displayed in the top-left corner. Your progress within a cycle is saved alongside the current wager, so it’s probably a good idea to stick to the same bet size until you reach the end of the cycle.
All of the positions of reels two, three, and four are marked with a “possible” multiplier throughout each ten-spin cycle. These potential multipliers get progressively larger during the cycle, but you will need to hit a wild on spin ten for those multipliers to take effect. Wilds do land relatively frequently, but it can still be frustrating if you reach the tenth spin and end up not hitting a single wild!
If you are lucky and wilds do land on the tenth spin, they will assume the multiplier value of the position where they appear. These multipliers are applied to every winning pay line that includes the corresponding wild symbol, whilst any lines with more than one wild will benefit from the sum of both of their multipliers.
Pinup Girls Slot Bonus Features
Bonus scatter symbols appear on all five reels, and hitting three or more will activate the free spin bonus round. Ten free spins are awarded for the minimum three-scatter trigger, plus five more spins for each additional scatter symbol.
Free Spins
The progressive feature from the base game is also present during the free spin bonus round, but the cycle length is reduced to five spins at a time rather than the usual ten. All wild symbols which land in this mode will mark the position where they appeared, and all marked positions will transform into wilds at the end of the current cycle.
Bonus Buy
You may purchase a set of free spins at the cost of 100x the normal price per spin. This is quite an attractive option, as I found the bonus round to be much more profitable than the base game when I was testing this machine.
The number of triggering scatters is determined randomly at the start of each feature, so you will inevitably get mainly three-scatter triggers when using the bonus buy facility.
Pinup Girls Slot Review Final Thoughts
The ten-spin cycle is a unique gameplay mechanic that makes Pinup Girls stand out from other online slots. Unfortunately, I’m not entirely convinced that it works, as players are almost certain to get fed up if they consistently miss the wilds on the tenth spin. Add in the unimpressive jackpot cap of just 3,000x your bet, and I can’t help but feel that Pragmatic Play has missed an opportunity with this one.
