Pirate’s Quest Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Yo ho ho, eh? Or is that Santa Claus? Ah, yes. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Now we are in pirate mode! And getting into pirate mode is always fun, whether playing online slots or going to a fancy dress party… as long as you aren’t on your private yacht off the coast of Somalia, in which case all bets are off. Pirates have had something of a resurgence in popular culture ever since the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, and there have been dozens – if not more – of successful online slots released over the past two decades to satisfy people’s taste for childish humour combined with big wins. Either of those two things on their own is fantastic, but if you put them together? It doesn’t get much better than that!

Base Game & Modifiers

Pirate’s Quest online slot uses a standard 5×3 playfield with 25 fixed pay lines. You’ll need to hit at least three matching symbols from left to right to score some winnings, with the biggest prizes only being available with a multiplier during free spins. There aren’t any real base game modifiers or features, but I have included the map feature here as it does sit outside the bonus round even though it has no effect until you hit the free spins.

Map Feature

Any ships landing during the base game will move your boat towards the distance on the map shown to the left of the main reel set. Once you make it to the end of the map, the ship will move back to its starting position, and your free spins multiplier will increase by 1x.

The higher your multiplier becomes, the more steps are required to progress toward the end of the map and thus increase your multiplier again. This is something of a double-edged sword – you want a bonus round, but you also want to wait until you have a decent-sized multiplier before you hit it!

Note that any ships that appear also have the “free spins” symbol underneath them, so if you already have two scatters in view plus at least one ship, you are guaranteed to trigger the feature.

Pirate’s Quest Slot Cash Respins Feature

Hit three or more scatter symbols during the base game, and you will trigger the main free spins bonus round. You will always receive ten free spins to start with, regardless of how many triggering scatter symbols you hit, but you can win additional free spins whilst the bonus is in play. The number of additional spins given is as follows:

One Scatter – 2 Free Spins Two Scatters – 5 Free Spins Three Scatters – 10 Free Spins Four Scatters – 20 Free Spins Five Scatters – 50 Free Spins

During the bonus round, all winnings are multiplied by the number you have reached on the map during the base game. Unfortunately, ships do not appear during free spins, and your multiplier is reset at the end of each feature.

Pirate’s Quest Slot Review Final Thoughts

Pirate’s Quest is a fun little game that is only held back by the slightly lower than average maximum win of 2,000x your bet. It’s still an enjoyable slot that I have no problems recommending, but I would score the game higher if it were just a tad more generous with its jackpot prize.
