Pixies Of The Forest Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
I couldn’t think of any other online slots based around pixies, so I decided to search our review library to see if I had forgotten anything obvious. As it turns out, my memory was not playing tricks on me – this is the only slot we have reviewed with a pixie theme, so top marks to IGT for coming up with a unique theme! For some reason, the search did return a couple of results for games based around Leprechauns, however, which suddenly reminded me that the leprechaun is apparently some type of pixie! Intrigued? We should probably get back on topic now, as you know you are going down a disturbing rabbit hole when you find yourself debating the shared features of pixies and leprechauns! The highest paying symbol in Pixies of the Forest is the game logo, with a reasonably impressive payout of 2,000x your bet for a full payline of five of a kind. There’s a significant drop as we get to the pixies themselves; the purple-haired pixie is the most valuable of the bunch, with a return of 1,000x for all five symbols, whilst a full payline of the brunette and the blonde are only worth 400x and 150x respectively. The lower-paying half of the paytable consists of just three royal symbols, with payouts ranging between 25x and 40x your bet for five of a kind.
Selecting your wager is performed using a single coin value selector, which has many options ranging from €0.01 to €5.00, which results in a peculiar total bet range of between €0.33 and €165.00 per round. Still, unusual as it may be, plenty of choices are available to suit all playing styles.
Base Game & Modifiers
Pixies of the Forest sticks to the traditional video slot template in almost every respect, starting with its five reel, three row playfield. Wins are awarded for hitting three or more matching symbols on a payline starting from the left.
There are 99 fixed paylines available, which is a very high number compared to other online slots. Despite many paylines, many of the line hits featured on the paytable are unusually large. Unfortunately, there aren’t any modifiers or other base game features to report on, but this might be a price worth paying for players who like high volatility slots with massive line hits.
Pixies Of The Forest Slot Bonus Features
Unlike many other online slots, Pixies of the Forest does not feature traditional scatter symbols to trigger the main bonus round. Instead, you will need to line up three bonus symbols on an active payline, after which you will be asked to choose one of the triggering symbols to reveal the number of free spins you have won.
Free Spins
It can take a while to hit the free spins in this game, and during my testing of the game, I managed to hit three bonus symbols several times that did not land on a payline, which was extremely frustrating.
When you do activate the bonus round, the game will award you between 5 and 11 free spins on an enhanced reel set. These alternative reels contain far more wilds than the base game, and they also appear in a stacked configuration, making it much easier to win on a large number of pay lines at once.
Those 99 paylines really come in handy when there are stacked wilds in play, and my results from this feature during testing were quite impressive, considering I only played a handful of bonus rounds.

- The RTP is below the average for online slots.
- Adding some modifiers would have helped break up the base game.
Final Thoughts
This isn’t the most exciting online slot, but it does look good, and the prizes offered on the paytable are far superior to those available in many other modern machines. If you like simple slots with massive line hits, you should absolutely keep an eye out for Pixies of the Forest.
