PlinkoX (SmartSoft) Slot Demo & Review

Slot players, if you’re after a break from spinning the reels and are looking for something simple to play instead and a game that anyone can pick up and understand within seconds, then Smartsoft Gaming’s PlinkoX might prove the perfect tonic. While the game may not throw up the same thrills as all those complex bonus-laden slots you usually play, it, especially in this case, can still provide a rewarding experience – with wins on this 97% RTP game of up to 10,000x the stake possible.

Furthermore, results are determined quickly and without any fuss, as the result depends on where a ball lands in a pocket holding a multiplier of the stake after being dropped into a vertical board with pegs that bounce it in different directions. On Smartsoft’s version of this popular game, there are 17 pockets at the bottom with multiplier values between 0.2x and 1,000x the stake. How is there a maximum win of 10,000x then, I hear you ask. Well, some of the balls that fall into the grid will have their own multiplier values of up to 10x, which apply to the payouts they receive.

Plinko X is vastly different from any other casino game you’ll play, so you’re either going to love it or hate it, but you’re not going to know until you check out the Plinko X demo we’ve lined up for you below.

While it may seem new to many of you, the game of Plinko has been around for over 40 years, with it first appearing on The Price is Right television game show back in 1983, and it was used as a way to determine the prizes that contestants would win. That’s essentially the same thing it does in a casino format, too, as the balls dropped will determine whether you make a loss on your stake or win a large multiplier. Aside from Smartsoft, other developers have released versions of this game, and we’ve reviewed some of them here, such as Plinko Dare2Win from Hacksaw Gaming and BGaming’s Plinko

In return for your stake, one ball will drop into the triangular grid, bounce off of pegs as it falls, and will land in one of 17 pockets at the bottom. Those in the central positions will have the smallest payouts, while those prizes will increase the further away the pockets are from the middle. The payouts and the number of pockets containing them are as follows:

  • Five 0.2x the stake pockets
  • Two 2x pockets
  • Two 4x pockets
  • Two 10x pockets
  • Two 20x pockets
  • Two 100x pockets
  • Two 1,000x pockets

Now, most balls that drop out of the tombola at the top of the screen are Pink and will hold a 1x multiplier value. However, the Yellow and Red balls will 5x or 10x multipliers, respectively, and when they land in the pockets, those values will multiply the payouts received. So, landing a 10x ball into a 1,000x pocket will deliver a 10,000x the stake return.

I’ve talked a lot about pockets so far, and ironically, you’ll need some pretty big ones to play this game. The minimum stake to drop a ball into the Plinko grid is €0.10, while the maximum is €50.00.

How to Play PlinkoX

There’s nothing complicated about Plinko, so playing it should prove a breeze, even if you’ve never played the game before. Simply choose your stake and hit the ‘Place Bet’ button to release a ball from the tombola. If you’d rather drop multiple balls into the grid over a short period of time, you can hold onto that button. Just remember that each ball dropped will deduct the chosen stake from your bankroll – so keep an eye on it and let go of the button when required.

Once the ball lands in a pocket, you receive a payout depending on the value of that pocket and whether your ball has a 1x, 5x, or 10x multiplier. Aside from that, that’s about it; apart from you have the ability to speed up to tombola using a control to the right or set up several automatic games using the Autoplay feature at the bottom.
